Leo gets freaky space ‘cancer’ from the prison dimension

Dealing with (aka: avoiding entirely) the trauma from all his interactions with Prime in the Prison Dimension is one thing. Yes, one thing he relatively sucks at but who’s gonna lay into him for that? But adding the stress of having a weird ass deadly illness on top of that, along with hiding it from his family, and it seems like the universe DOES want him dead!
Oh well, it’s not like this could turn out horrible right? He just has to find the cure, make it, and completely treat the illness before his brothers get too suspicious! Also maybe find out what it’s called, the place of origin, maybe find a list of all the symptoms, find out how to manage living with it in case there’s no cure, any potential after affects it has if it IS curable, and a couple bajillion other things that could be handy to know!
How hard could that be?

Their mad dash back home is frantic, uncoordinated, borderline dangerous. Draxum drives the van (much to Donnie's protests, though they are in no condition to themself), and more than once, the vehicle jolts unpleasantly as they roll over piles of rubble.
Maybe it isn't just rubble.
Raph shudders.From his position on the floor he can only see the tips of the crumbled buildings, the barest sliver of the damage done to their city.
Are there any buildings left standing?

As much as Donnie would like to be a robot and simply keep working and advancing, they were cursed with a human body. A human body with emotional and physical needs. Suddenly, their mode dropped, along with their productivity, and Donnie came to the horrifying conclusion that they were lonely. They missed Mikey’s home cooked meals, now sometimes going far too long without eating. They missed Raph’s enthusiasm and spending time with him. They were even loath to admit they missed Leo’s dumb jokes. And staying up late with Leo when neither could sleep. And ranting to Leo about their day. And listening to Leo’s absurd Jupiter Jim theories. And Leo nagging them about wearing their back brace.
God, Donnie missed their twin.
(Or: Donnie suddenly starts struggling emotionally and physically while in college, but it's a good thing Tim likes to insert himself in other people's business! If only he could help with the random seizures and memory gaps Donnie has been having. A story about college, family, surgery recovery, gay idiots, and Donnie being bad at self care.)

He's tired. He's been tired for a while now.
Exhaustion seeps into his bones and digs its icy fingers in. refusing to let go even when he sleeps. It settles into his limbs like stones and stays there like a crushing weight that he can't get rid of. Like it's been carved out of something else, it presses in on him, fills the space between his breaths, stretches thin across his body so that every sound feels wrong.

It’s not like something as superficial as looks was important. He knew that. It was vain and egotistical to try to make himself attractive. He had no one to be pretty for. No one to impress, because no one gave a fuck. Leo could exist or not, and it wouldn’t make a difference to anyone. He was just… there. Nothing good about him.
