This is a slow-burn dark romance about identity, control, and the unbearable intimacy of trust among monsters, told through the perspective of an illithid struggling to reconcile his instinctive emotional repression with his yearning for psionic resonance.

This was supposed to be a typical bug hunt. The plan itself was simple: locate the hive; rescue any humans found along the way; kill the queen, then the hive; and celebrate with the squad over a few rounds after everything is accounted for; rinse and repeat. Corporal Caleb Grace wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary, until he meets face-to-face with a yautja hunter deep inside the hive. The pair begrudgingly work together to survive, fighting off the xenomorphs while also fighting off the feelings they have for each other. ;)

Regard vissé sur le visage parfaitement sérieux de Sebastian, Ruvik se sentit plisser les yeux et le nez avant d'avoir eu le temps de s'en empêcher. C'était fou comme il avait du mal à rester parfaitement impassible, ces derniers temps.
D'un autre côté, tempéra-t-il, il passait son temps à surveiller Lily. Or Lily avait beau être une petite fille parfaitement standard à tout les niveaux, elle aimait aussi beaucoup dessiner - ce qui impliquait d'imiter l'expression des personnages qu'elle crayonnait, dans son cas (même les papillons ; ce qui avait quelque chose d'assez impressionnant, il voulait bien l'admettre).
A force de la fixer faire la grimace, il s'en était imprégné. Simples mathématiques. Il n'était absolument pas influencé par ses - est-ce qu'il était en train de se moquer de lui, là ?« Je peux savoir ce qui te fait rire ?
-Toi. »
L'air tout sauf impressionné, Ruvik lui lança un regard censé transmettre tout ce qu'il pensait de la situation. A savoir : tu es ridicule, tu as le QI d'un écureuil et je n'ai aucune idée de ce que je fais encore ici.
Ou juste une toute petite.Mais ça, plutôt mourir que de l'admettre.

She’d be lying if she said she hadn’t planned to do it, which was probably one of the reasons she was avoiding asking herself that question. But the thought was still there in the back of her mind, vague and nebulous and, worst of all, revealing in a way that made her feel some undefined mixture of vulnerable and irritated. So what? Maybe she had planned to. But it was something that needed to be fixed and understood, and meticulous planning was what she did regardless of the subject; the question she had hoped to answer wasn’t any more significant than any other question she had ever had.
At any rate, there was no denying one thing: of all people, she’d kissed Junkrat.

McCree felt the ambush seconds before it happened. He shouted a quick warning, ducking into a doorway as he drew Peacekeeper and thumbed the hammer back. He caught a couple of bandits as they emerged from an alley, dispatching them with a bullet to the head each. He was sighting down a third when his communicator went off. He hits the button to receive the call on his earpiece, ready to update Winston on their situation.
“McCree here, we’re under attack,” he yells, shooting the bandit he’d found a few moments earlier. He ducks back behind the wall to reload when a voice, clearly not the one he was expecting, crackled in his ear.
“Jesse? Jesse is that you,” asks an older woman over the communicator.
“Ma?! How in the hell did you get this number,” McCree stops in his tracks, disbelief that his mother, of all people, was calling him. In the middle of a firefight.Or, one does not simply ignore Ma McCree.
