“Are you ok, Captain?” Daisuke looked at him concernedly, Swansea annoyed. He opened his mouth, realising this would be the first time he’d talked in months. The words came smooth. Like nothing had ever happened.
“I’m just really worried about Jim.” His mouth said. He’d thought of this scenario, while waiting to die on that bed. “He’s been acting super irrationally since the news at my birthday party.”
“Anyone in his position would be.” Swansea said, crossing his arms. “With his short temper? It'll blow over, it always does with Jimmy.”
Curly’s jaw clenched, that had been his exact view of the situation, until… well, until. “He’s been threatening me.” He lied. “And himself. He’s been pinging all the captaincy markers for a dangerous level of suicidal ideation.”
He just needed to set this up. Needed to set it up so it wouldn't be a shock when he died.

What happens when a man left to stew in his own thoughts for months gets sent back in time? He finally manages to do what he's imagining for ages.
Or, the one piece of characterisation we get of Curly post-crash (thats not projection or a hallucination) is him laughing when Jimmy picks up the gun, I want to explore that side of him.

Prismo's eye flickered over to focus on them. "I have a wish for you to grant, if you want to."
"A wish?" Simon asked, furrowing his brow. "Isn't that your whole deal?"
"The guy." Prismo stretched a hand across the floor to point at the six-fingered man. "Wished specifically for someone to help with his problem, so I can't conjure up a new reality for him. I chose you guys to take up the task, since you have experience with multiversal adventures."
"What if we get, like, halfway through and realise we can't do it?" Fionna asked.
"And what's the problem you want us to solve?" Simon interrupted, unwilling to agree to anything without knowing just what he was getting into.
"Ah, well." Prismo said, fidgeting nervously. "Fionna, that's easy enough to answer. I'll send the Scarab in and you'll be free to head home." He sighed. "Simon, uh, you're not gonna like this. It's Bill Cipher."
"Bill Cipher" Simon cried incredulously. Was Prismo serious?! "The big boss of the Nightmare Realm, Bill Cipher?"

Summary
A lot of the Spider Society are built in ways Peter doesn't even know how to describe, flat like Peni or reality warping like Porker. A few, he notices in astonishment, are like him, only in red and blue or purple and green instead of black and white.
A few, he also notices, something strange growing in his chest, are like the ladies he's met who's bodies didn't match their souls. Spandex sewn into long skirts, the padding of breasts on lean musculature, makeup drawing attention away from a strong jaw.
Even more are like what he assumes their opposite to be, costumes sewn to emphasise the shoulders and diminish the hips, compression fabric built into the chest area, facial hair drawn on instead of naturally growing, and those are just the ones he can 'tell'.
Peter's suddenly reminded of bigots back home scrutinising his form for any visible differences they can attack, and he turns his gaze away abruptly. It's none of his business if any of these Spider-People came across their gender slightly differently, why does he care so much?

"Surprise!!!"
Jon stumbled back slightly at the sudden light, and Oz cawed.
"Jesus." He cursed, blinking slightly.
"Happy birthday!" His harassers called. Jon squinted to look at them.
They were huddled around a table, with a cake that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN SIMS, WORLDS OKAYIST BOSS" in bright pink comic sans. A single tiny birthday candle reached out of the I in Sims and panic briefly struck Jon before he noticed they'd also completely cleared the metal table of paper.
Their dæmons were in a pile before the table, Trix, Tim's dæmon and an Armenian Mouflon (therefore the biggest) the base as always, with Zorya sat just behind her head and Patroclus nestled in the dip of one of her curled horns. Oz flew over to them before Jon could stop him, settling on the root of Trix's other horn, right beside where keratin met fur and his wing almost brushed Zorya as he adjusted himself.
Jon mentally rolled his eyes at the bird, he never had learnt what "professional distance" was.

"Gonna be honest." The spiked Spider-Man moved closer again to sling an arm around Peter's shoulders, leaning forward conspiratorially, and briefly switched to a grey colour palette. "In my world the 30's was swarmed with racists and fascists. I had to make sure I didn't have to punch you."
"Oh, I hate fascists and racists!" Peter said, brightening with relief, so that was why the young man was ready to fight him. Very understandable, commendable, even! "They're practically all I fight back in my world, along with the mob and landlords."
"Ha!" Hobie barked a laugh. "Landlord, fascist? What's the difference, right?"
Peter laughed as well.

This was not the plan. The plan was for you to transfer your mind to a power suit and take the Climber down to site Tau, where you would find the ARK and launch it into space the way the original PATHOS-II team was supposed to. The plan was to get you and Catherine on the ARK and go with the rest of humanity into a virtual reality that would keep you alive and safe on a satellite and far, far away from the the wreckage of you apocalyptic planet. The plan was for you to get on the ARK and leave.
Nowhere in the plan were you supposed to wake up alone at the bottom of the fucking ocean.

Beautiful read. Toes the line between Namor actually being atlantian and him keeping the mythology close around himself as a coping mechanism. It makes the ending all the more tragic.
