Summary
“Dazai hasn’t said a word since the ability activated.”
Chuuya’s blood ran cold. He returned his gaze to the miniature Dazai, and felt his chest clench.
Even though he had to be terrified, Dazai sat stiffly on Naomi’s lap. His face showed no fear, just a blank stare that was all too familiar to Chuuya. He looked like a lifeless doll with no agency of its own.
“Dazai, do you know who I am?” Chuuya asked, keeping his voice even.
OR Chuuya gets hit by an ability, turning Dazai into a baby & leaving Chuuya to take care of him

Chuuya scoffs, and there’s something else to his tone that Dazai can’t make out, something other than Annoyed At Dazai. “Did you get hit in the fight, idiot?”
“No?” Dazai guesses.
But really, he doesn’t know. What fight? Dazai doesn’t remember a fight, and the last time they had a mission, Dazai wasn’t hurt. Chuuya’s making a mistake.
Dazai can maybe hear soft murmurs that sound a little like what the fuck, but he can’t be bothered with whatever Chuuya’s problem is right now. He’s tired, and his head hurts bad enough that he might actually consider taking painkillers if he were allowed to have them.

“Chibi?” Dazai is barely able to lift his head as he seems to have finally realized Chuuya is there, which is worrying because usually nothing gets past him.
Chuuya immediately puts his hand on Dazai’s forehead.
“Fuck…” Chuuya grimaces, Mackerel’s absolutely burning up. The soft whimper that the younger lets out while leaning in to the touch is pitiful.

Rudo was having a terrible, horrible, no good, absolutely shit day.
It had all started when Gris, Zanka, and Enjin had gone to town to do some shopping. Enjin had promised Rudo some candy if he agreed to help with the shopping and chores.
Normally, Riyo would help, but she was working with August on some new clothes, so Enjin had asked him.
Rudo had agreed since it was the promise of sweets. He shouldn't have agreed because he ended up getting kidnapped.
So here he was, tied up with Stupid Fucking Jabber in No Man’s Zone

“You don't do anything halfway, do you, kid?” Gris said.
“Is it high?” Rudo asked.
“Kid, you've got a 103-degree fever. Yes, that's high.”
“Oh.”
Enjin sighed, tucking Rudo in. “Alright, here's the plan, Rudo. Gris brought some medicine for you. Take it, and then you're going to get some sleep. Eisha will check you out when she gets back.”
Rudo groaned. He did not want to see Eisha. He hated the med bay.
That got a chuckle out of Gris and Enjin. “You need to see her, kid,” Enjin said.
“I hate the med bay,” he mumbled.
Gris helped Rudo take the pills with some water and then coaxed him under the covers, brushing his hair back.
Rudo sighed softly, feeling himself getting sleepy at the sensation of Gris’s hand running through his hair. It was so soothing and comforting; it reminded him of Regto.
“Get some sleep, Rudo,” he heard distantly as he fell asleep.

Zanka Nijiku never expected his life to turn out this way.
At eighteen, he became a single parent to a little pup who quickly became his entire world. Years later, Zanka has learned how to make it work on his own. He has a job he loves, a small apartment, his family nearby, and Rudo—his loud, energetic little boy.
He doesn't need an Alpha.
He certainly doesn't need someone making promises about forever, only to leave when things become difficult.
Then he moves into a new apartment and meets Enjin.
Enjin doesn't promise him anything.
He simply notices how tired Zanka is, picks up a couple of heavy boxes, and starts making himself useful.
