The three all rolled their eyes in perfect sync, then turned to Canary.
“What type of superhero doesn’t have any powers?” They all asked in unison.

“I…honestly didn’t have a lot of faith in us.” Pearl quipped, sheathing her axe back on her back. “But I had faith in my dogs—I had faith in myself and Tilly.” She sucked in a breath, her smile fading. “...But Tilly’s now passed away.”
As she said the words, the sky seemed to almost darken, and whispers filled the air. The whispers of her old enemies, those who had fallen.
“Pearl,” Scott’s voice brought her back to reality. “I think you deserve this more.”

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
