Inspired by Jennilah's adorable artwork of a tiny!cas-filled gumball machine.
Dean walks into his local bank one day and notices that someone has filled the old gumball machine with these tiny, wiggling, sentient angels in individual plastic packaging. Deeply concerned about their air supply and the fact that they're trapped there in the sun, he starts pumping in quarters to rescue them. This is worse than leaving a dog in an overheating car.
Now he's got forty of the little guys running all over his house, and god knows how many others might be trapped and dying all over the city.

Dean is fine. The way he sees it, things are simple. He had a house and a family and food in his stomach, and now he doesn't. And yeah, that's a downer, but he's not going to let that stop him from being fine, because he's in control of the situation. He definitely doesn't need anyone to save him. The pair of eyes peering back at him flicked away the second they made contact, and Hannibal started to piece together a new personality. A real one. Are you shy, he wondered?
He gathered his pencils back in his pocket, closed his sketchbook, and stood. The boy’s eyes snapped right back to him, and as Hannibal approached, he could see that he was rigid from anxiety.
“Um.” The little boy exhaled under his breath, “Hi?”
One of his feet was crossed behind the other in a timid little gesture. Hannibal took note of his body language; he was uncomfortable. Maybe even scared. Hannibal didn’t want to make him scared.
He raised a hand and waved.

A robotic voice replies, “The time is 5:43pm.”
Logan drops the newspaper from obscuring his face. He immediately finds the source of the reply on the coffee table: a grey, cylindrical device that looks like a mini speaker, control buttons on its side. It blinks a turquoise light around the rim until the light turns off with a muted beep at the extended silence.
“What the fuck?” he wonders out loud, surprised to see such a familiar gadget.
“Have you not interacted with an Echo before, peanut?” Wade asks. “Did you not have Bezos’ army of listening devices where you’re from?”
