He didn’t need a rebound, at least not one of flesh and bone. The ocean was there to listen to his heartbreak.
Wilbur plays his guitar to the sea as a form of coping after heartbreak - but doesn't realise he's gained himself a secret admirer, until he starts receiving gifts from the waves.

Technoblade has been holding his rage inside him for years. It leaks out at times, when he was eleven he punched a kid's tooth out, when he was sixteen he broke Wilbur's nose. He doesn’t want to do this. He doesn’t want to be here. He wants to go back into the car but he can’t move but he has to move before it’s too late. Oh god, he doesn’t want to see Wilbur, not right now, he’s not ready yet but that doesn’t matter because there is a door opening just to the side of Tommy’s vision and a familiar voice rings through Tommy's ears.
His throat swells. Wilbur’s eyes are on him and he forgets how to breathe.
Wilbur.
“Tommy?”
OR: After Wilbur’s overdose, Tommy is left yet again to pick up the pieces while Wilbur spends his months in rehab. Nothing is the same in Tommy’s life, no matter how hard he or his family try to pretend it is. When Wilbur comes back, can he stay sober?

Straazien are EXTREMELY rare.
They are powerful and feared. Yet none are known to attack without extreme provocation.
They were gentle giants with strange, unstudied abilities.
To get your hands on one would be well... it’d probably fetch the same price as a human.
The other most feared creature in the galaxy.
And while humans are significantly smaller than Straazien, they are far more violent.
While Straazien are known as gentle giants, humans are known as ruthless killers. One thing they have in common, they are both hard to kill.
Straaziens have almost an armor of stars for scales, while humans just don’t quit. Staying alive by sheer will.
And you see...
Tommy was a Straazien. A baby one.
Or, Tommy’s parents get killed by hunters and he gets captured. He then finds Wilbur, a human captured by the same hunters.

“At least until we can contact your mom,” he said. “That’s step one.”
“There’s more steps?” Tommy asked incredulously.
“Well, it’s a complicated situation. The fact that they’re already struggling to make contact is… well, it’s a red flag. You lived with your brother, but your mother never transferred sole custody, and considering the situation that left you in, there's some question as to whether or not she may be involved in your brother’s… business.”
“Drugs,” Tommy said.
“Yes. Drugs.”

Summary
But Wilbur is a ball and chain in the middle of the sea, slowly but steadily dragging himself down to the ocean floor with Tommy unknowingly trapped inside his cuff. It’s unfair that Tommy has had to drown with Wilbur for so many years, desperately trying to swim both of them back to the surface. It’s fruitless, and Tommy wonders sometimes if it would be better to just cut the chain that binds them together. To let Wilbur sink on his own, while Tommy heads for air.
He could never do that though; as much as he wants to. He’ll let Wilbur sink them both, and Tommy will swim and thrash as the surface grows more and more distant. Hoping and wishing for a lifeboat. For someone to help them to shore, and to pull Tommy’s freezing body into their warm, loving arms and drape a towel over his wet shoulders.
He thinks Phil might be that person, Techno too. Tommy wants to let them be and he wishes for Wilbur to want that too.
OR: Wilbur and Tommy are brothers in the foster system. Wilbur is struggling with addiction, Tommy is always left to pick up the pieces. But now with Techno and Phil here, hopefully they’ll be able to help. (Only Wilbur does not want help.)

Honestly, he looked like a child struggling to reach his next birthday on his own. In an oversized, faded sweater, with bruises on his forearms, and a still unhealed, split lip, he definitely didn't resemble the little terrorist Phil had carefully guarded all sharp objects from. More like a victim of a natural disaster. As if he had spent hours on the roof escaping a flood, only to be carried away by a tornado.
But burying the knives was still a good idea. The kid seemed to trip over while making a sandwich."

A short-lived series of private lessons took place after Christmas in Harry Potter's fifth school year, during which Severus Snape attempted to teach Harry the skill of Occlumency. The lessons were ultimately cancelled when Harry was caught prying into Snape's memories, discovering the strangest things: A mysterious prophecy connected Harry's fate with Voldemort's, Harry's dad was an insufferable bully, and Severus Snape had been in love with Harry's mum. Naturally, Harry now has a million questions. Snape would prefer to answer none.
The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes. The same question arises in every soul: "For what, for whom, must I kill and be killed?"
