Summary
When Aloy raises her spear to end HADES before the doors of LATOPOLIS, she hesitates. It doesn't seem right somehow, despite all the pain and destruction the AI has caused, to kill it in cold blood. Not when it has been reduced to defenseless, malfunctioning wreck by Sylens' tender care. Not when its formerly formidable voice has diminished to a weary, resigned rumble.
Just her luck, that out of all the enemies Aloy has made and vanquished since the Proving, the first one to ask for mercy would be HADES, who categorically does not deserve it.
Elisabet Sobek, she thinks, would do what had to be done. She—they—had sacrificed so much to save Earth. What did a scratch on her conscience matter compared to her duty to humanity?
But... Aloy wasn't Sobek's daughter.
She was Rost's.

Summary
Once upon a time there was a girl and a demon.
The girl’s hair was the color of Dust, a gleaming gold, and with it shining in the wind she lifted her sword, and drove it straight into the heart of the demon that had tried to call her little village its own. The people loved her. They say her soul was a brilliant white dog, a guardian, large as an ox. He grappled with the monster. With his fur a light to drive it back.
And so time turned on. Technology improved. The people lived. A thousand years passed. A kingdom grew, the loyal mutt-souls of the common people protected by the noble lines of knights, bloodhounds and shepherds and retrievers. Happily ever after, right?
Tsht. Yeah. You know, they say only dogs get happy endings.

Shouta Aizawa thinks there’s something off about Midoriya Izuku. He’s been thinking that since he saw the boy in his classroom, hunched over a seat, making himself as small as possible. Elbows tucked in close, calloused knuckles, and darting eyes.A crooked nose, the kind of odd, subtle little twist that gives the boy’s large green eyes a quirky flare. The kind of nose that was broken one too many times and hadn’t been set properly often enough.
That was not the behavior of someone with a ridiculously overpowered Quirk. That was especially not the behavior he’d seen during the exam footage, the footage of a green-haired teenager who was flashy and open and seemed to radiate power.
Illogical.

Or: Midoriya gets into vigilantism a little too early, with a Quirk more like his uncle's than his father's, and, frankly, half the time he's just along for the ride.
