- Book: After a moment of brief, terrifying eye contact, Shane flees the club. Jealous, horrified, embarrassed, he ends up having to pull over on the side of the road to cry his eyes out. So sad.
- Show: After a way worse moment of devastated eye contact while Ilya sucks a blonde's ear lobe, a visibly uncomfortable Shane ends up in bed with Rose while a split screen suggests that he is thinking about Ilya jorking it in the shower. Or Ilya could be jorking it thinking about Shane having sex with Rose. Really, why choose?

Shane’s transfer to Ottawa is everything but smooth. Centaurs are not nice.
Shane’s career was always full of responsibilities to everyone end everything. Carrying whole team on his shoulders being used only for hockey and not appreciated as a person. His autism. Montreal was horrendous at the end. Losing his sense of self and self worth, excusing the abuse.
Would there ever be good time for Shane in this team? Hard to say. Should or can he forgive the centaurs?So much of this story made me nauseous.
Realistic portrait of Shane if HR story wasn’t a hae.
The whole second chapter is just pain.Author thinking of possible sequel or continuation. I subscribed.

Man. It’s patronizing.

Shane searches his face for a second, eyebrows creased slightly, face an open book just like before. Ilya tries to push past him, tries to see how fast he can forget that this encounter ever happened, but Shane stops him at the last second.
“Can I give you my number?” he asks, already digging in his pocket for his phone. “We should catch up.”
Ilya doesn’t want it. He really doesn’t want it. Shane is being polite. He’s being a good boy. He’s saying exactly the type of things you’re supposed to say when you run into someone you haven’t seen in years.Nine years after Ilya decided to end things with Shane, he runs back into him. Shane is working as a hockey commentator, while Ilya is married to Svetlana and living in the US as a retired hockey player. Although he knows he shouldn't, he allows himself to get to know Shane again.
