He covers his face in his hands and presses his forehead to the steering wheel. He wants to scream, but he doesn’t. He wants to smoke a fucking cigarette, but he’s four months clean and he doesn’t want to go through the effort of quitting all over again. Ilya is absolutely terrible at quitting things that are bad for him, even when he knows it’ll just hurt him in the end.
Instead, he thinks.
He thinks of how he felt when he Skyped Shane for the first time, the feeling in his chest when Shane kissed his fingers and pressed them to the camera. Goodnight, Ilya, he said. Ilya had never felt more happy, but at the same time he wanted to cry. With that happiness came a feeling of terror: that the other shoe had to drop. That he would have to come down. That maybe he would never feel this happy again. That perhaps he had made a deal with the devil without even realizing it. He wasn’t sure what he had given up.

Summary
Keith was settled on his knees, blood dripping down his arms from yanking at the chains. His face was scratched and stained with bloody tears. His eyes glowed a dull yellow and his pupils were slits.
He looked deranged and teetering into something forbidden and was so beautiful it hurt.
“The quintessence of a Galra-human hybrid,” Keith’s fangs glinted in a bloody smile. “Doesn’t that just make your mouth water?”
When Keith and Lance are captured by a creature that can drain any being of quintessence, both go to extreme lengths to save the other. This is a story of how you can come from feeling everything, only for it to be taken away.

Summary
He had been headed to the door of their room, a cup in hand that he was planning to refresh with possibly some decent-tasting Nunvil if it existed.
Until the familiar whoosh of a magical space wolf whistled through the room.
The cup dropped from Lance’s hands as Kosmo appeared in the middle of their room, with a bloodied and bruised Keith wrapped around him.
There was so much blood that Lance couldn’t tell where it was coming from, crimson soaking pale skin and leaving no inch uncovered. Keith’s braid was knotted and clumped together from the red, any hair that slipped out clinging to the sweat and blood on his skin.
Kosmo whined.
Lance could only watch as Keith slowly untangled from Kosmo, dropping to the floor with a small groan.
His smile was weak and red as he looked up at Lance.
“Hey lover,” he coughed up blood. “I’m home.”
With that, Lance’s idiot of a husband fainted.In which Keith is too impulsive, and comes home to a VERY angry husband

Keith stared into the neon purple concoction and wondered if it would be his death sentence.
“Shiro,” he said out of the corner of his mouth. “I can’t drink this.”
“Why?” Shiro asked through his smile.
Keith glanced over to where Lance was asking if any of the Xaligas had heard of bendy straws. The aliens, as per usual, were enchanted by him.
“Because,” Keith’s teeth were locked shut to keep from chattering. “It might cause an intergalactic incident.”
Shiro’s eyes widened ever so slightly. “That’s a good reason.”When the gang is served a truth serum by an untrusting group of aliens, Keith is forced to reveal a rather inconvenient secret. This is bothersome, considering half of the galaxy is in love with Lance.

Another shadow, a little closer than the last. A jacket, cropped sloppily at the waist. The silhouette of a man wearing it. Frantically looking around, searching.
Blink. And gone again.
Lance leaned backwards against the window to get a better look.
There was a man standing by one of the benches at the platform— exactly where he thought the man he saw was. But this time, something wasn't right. He couldn't tell if it was the length of his hair that wasn't long enough. Or the cut of his jacket that was a little too long...
Too long compared to what though, that had seemed to escape his mind.

Summary
Lance's fingers fold around his wrist, and suddenly, Keith is stumbling after him, drawn to the fountain’s marble edge.
“Why don’t you see for yourself?”
Lance's hand flutters away.
The flush of warmth crawling up Keith’s arm does not.
Later that night, while he keeps his post outside Lance’s chambers, Keith can’t recall how Lance pulls the water from the fountain, if it’s the way he moves his hands or the sweet things he whispers to it that does it.
All he remembers is the way the sunlight breaks apart across the water, and how it lights up Lance’s smile in gold.
