There’s a little green something in the cracks of the road. Grian stares at it, and then he looks at Scar, who is humming cheerfully while he rummages in his bag, and then Grian looks back to the little plant.
Grian looks at Scar again. He takes a step closer to the plant. Scar, blissfully, does not notice.
Something fungal bubbles at the back of Grian’s throat.

Summary
Tommy had been confused about the killing, wondering if they really needed all those corpses to eat and why they were shooting good food out the airlock in the first place, but once Tubbo had pulled him into the room, things had made sense again. Before that, he’d been doing what Dream said because he was alone and Dream was bigger and they had a mission, but afterwards he'd known that Tubbo and Ranboo could be like birthmates properly, guarding their cranny from adults until they were big enough to infiltrate other worlds. He'd realized where his priorities should be.
So he’d told Dream politely— or, well, not politely, he had growled quite a bit— that Ranboo and Tubbo could be included in the mission, and when Dream had come for them anyway, Tommy had fought him to the death.
Except not, because he’d woken up in an escape pod. Which was strange, because he could have sworn Tubbo had seen him try to tear Dream's head off with his teeth.
Tommy must have been a better impostor than he’d thought.

Summary
This relationship with Wilbur, the way Tommy’s heart jumps when he walks in– definitely not healthy. But Tommy’s not very well-versed in healthy relationships. He knows what they should be, yes– a take and a give, but Tommy is a taker and he’s used to that. A burden for those who can’t handle it.
(or, my take on the "Dark SBI" trend i've seen going around, except.... well. SBI aren't really the smooth manipulators they want to be. Tommy, on the other hand-)

Tommy hums absent-mindedly underneath his breath as he continues on his walk, and just as he sees the school come into view, himself being right on time, his phone begins to buzz in his pocket.
He doesn’t think much of it. It’s a calm morning, the city is quiet, and he’s not thinking straight, with it still being early. He expects it to be some telemarketer, if anything. He doesn’t expect anything of the worst.
(He wishes he never picked up that fucking phone call.)

The alien birds didn’t seem to know what to make of him. They must have been important if they were buying intergalactic pets and providing them whole rooms to themselves, but if Logan had ever heard of a human before, he didn’t let it show.
Humans were horrible, from what the smugglers had said, because outside of Earth-- their deathworld, was what they had called it-- they were stronger than most species, and a heck of a lot more durable. The humans who got to space fell to their worst impulses, got addicted to killing, or so beaten down they were desensitized to it.
Patton would never be used to it. He wouldn’t try to be, not even if his life depended on it, not when he remembered how those first aliens had crumpled like paper mache under the force of a few blows. That was why he’d ended up with the fish people in a reverse aquarium, for being so boring.
That was why he stayed still and relaxed when the birds came to visit him, and let Roman touch his face and arms when he wanted to, even though Virgil tried to stop him. He didn’t want the birds to be afraid he would hurt them.

He, Prince Roman of Pheria, slayer of three whole wyverns and half of a fourth one because his brother had gotten there at the same time, was an amphibian. He faltered before he could say anything else. The boy’s eyes had suddenly gone wide and dark, cold wind sweeping through the playground and stirring the edges of soggy, browned leaves into the air; Patton shuddered and touched the other boy’s arm to see if he was distracted or something, and his new playmate’s gaze snapped back toward him.
“Patton,” he said, sounding wondering and weird, almost shaking.
“That’s me!” Patton agreed. “Who’re you?”
“You know who I am,” the boy said, strange expression falling back into irritated confusion.
