Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
Burnt out and exhausted with city life, Etho packs up and moves to the old abandoned farm his parents owned before he was born. It's sat empty for thirty years and it's not in a good state, but he's determined to make the most of it.
The town is full of good people, and he quickly finds friendship in abundance. Amongst them all though, one stands out. Bdubs is kind and funny and exceptionally talented at a number of things. He's handsome too, and Etho can't help but crush on him, just a little bit.
They get along fantastically right from day one, but Etho keeps his feelings to himself. It's just a crush, it'll go away. And besides, it's not like Bdubs would ever like him back... Right?

“Not a big fan of dogs, are ya?” The man chuckles, ruffling his already messy hair, and Giyuu has to resist the urge to bite him and leave the bar altogether. Iguro speaks up from across the table, a condescending (yet concerned?) look in his eyes.
“Hmm… a hashira afraid of dogs? Don’t you have better things to be worried about?” He speaks in that smooth, slithery tone, eyes dark underneath the warm yellow lighting hanging above the group. Kaburamaru flicks his tongue out at Giyuu, who this time bares his teeth and curls his arms around his legs. Iguro blinks, taken aback at the other man’s behavior.
It’s impolite to sit this way, Giyuu thinks, with his head on top of his knees and arms tightly wound around himself, but he couldn’t stop thinking about the damned dogs. What if they came running in here? (They can’t, they’re tied up.) Or what if they’re trying to murder him specifically!? (They aren’t, they’re just lonely.)

He knew, reasonably, that his levels of pain and levels of exhaustion came and went in waves. He knew that it was more than likely that his energy would return sometime soon, and Scar would stop feeling as horrible as he did presently. He’d stop being so much of a burden, at least for a little while.
But he also knew that, someday, it wasn’t going to go away. Someday, it would get bad, and it wouldn’t get better again. It wouldn’t come with a warning. For all he knew, that someday was now. Even as it was, his best days from the past year were about the same level as some of his worst days from fifteen years ago.
What was he but a sinking ship— occasionally drifting back toward the surface but knowing that he would never again breach it. With each passing hour, day, week, month, and year, he was coming closer to where he would inevitably run out of oxygen on the sandy ocean floor.
But Cub’s hands were still in his hair, and that helped.
