At some point, through some set of circumstances, Danny might do something bad, and he wanted to make sure he could be stopped. Why was it so hard for the rest of the Justice League to come to terms with the fact that someday, somehow, they might need to be stopped too?

Annabeth walks into the college cafeteria and feels every hair on the back of her neck stand up. Something very, very dangerous is in this room.
And she finds it– across the cafeteria, she makes eye contact with a plain-looking boy, and he stares back at her, and every instinct in her body screams wrong, wrong, wrong.Peter puts fries on his plate and nearly drops it, because suddenly every hair on the back of his neck has stood up. He puts the plate down, not paying attention to where, and looks around the room for the source of danger. He meets eyes with a blonde girl across the room, and she doesn’t look that threatening, but every instinct in Peter’s body is screaming danger, danger, danger. It’s the same feeling he gets right before something goes very, very wrong, and Peter feels the insane urge to strike her, kill her, right then and there before she does something horrible, before she kills him.
OR
Spiders don’t like Annabeth. Annabeth doesn’t like spiders. Peter and Annabeth -and their respective friends- just so happened to end up at the same college. What could go wrong?
