Summary
Grian is miserable.
He hasn’t preened in—a while, admittedly. And, look, that’s for quite a few reasons, okay? He’s been insanely busy working on his base, as Impulse and Gem and Scar have forced him to do. Impulse and Gem, especially, who crafted a glorified time bomb above his beautiful Dwayne the Rock. So forgive him if he’s been a bit focused on making sure that all his hard work doesn’t go to waste. Plus, there was that thing with the tunnel bore, and he’s been so busy with trying to collect supplies for Doc after that whole mess. Besides, the paranoia has been eating at him, since he wouldn’t put it past Doc to somehow mess with his base. Or, Void-forbid, his nest.
Grian can't take a break. Not even to take care of his wings.
Or, Grian’s wings are so itchy that he’s half considering tearing them off, at this point, and there’s only one person who can help.
Only thing, though—has Scar ever preened wings, before?

When Grian joins Mumbo working at The Hermit Coffee Co., he is thrown into a world of caffiene and chaos, with meddling co-workers, rambunctious regulars, and an absolutely henious amount of group chats. The friends he left back home miss him, Mumbo's college friends (cough, frat bros, cough) keep pestering him, and his new friendship with a certain scarred individual is developing in a way he never expected.
Will he be able to shake off the meddling redstoners? What will happen when there are two potential romances blossoming on either side of him? And will these baristas ever stop texting each other and just make me my goddamn soy-milk capuccino?
OR
A coffeeshop AU told through the texts between hermits. Now a combination of texts and prose from chapter 7 onwards.

Otherwise known as when Scar takes in yet another stray in the form of a traumatised, recently ex-cultist Grian, and Mumbo doesn’t exactly approve...at first. Somehow, though, the prickly avian manages to worm his way into both of their hearts.

Summary
As Mumbo delicately ran his fingers through Grian’s feathers, he mentioned, “Y’know, mate, I think your flight feathers are almost back in.”
Ever since season 6 started about two weeks ago, Grian had been coming over to Mumbo’s little island every couple of days for a bit of extra help with preening his wings. Mumbo didn’t mind, of course – he always took whatever chance he got to spend time with Grian, especially after he was missing, presumed dead, for a year and a half. Mumbo knew Grian was struggling with taking care of his wings; when Grian first returned a few months before the season started, his wings were a mangled, bloody mess. They kept it up, like a tradition; it was natural for Grian to come over every couple of days, even if it meant Mumbo’s basement was covered in feathers.
Grian gave a noncommittal hum. “Are they, now?”

Or, sometimes avians lose their flight after not flying for a long time. Mumbo is determined to help.

“Grian,” he whispered, “is the moon big?”
—OR: Mumbo Jumbo grapples with two equally impossible problems: the oncoming end of the world, and how to tell Grian he's in love with him.

“Hotguy.”
“Hi, pretty bird.” He hears Hotguy croon. Grian turned to face his former nemesis, now nuisance.
“Do you want something, or are you just trying to annoy me?” Grian huffed out as he picked up the cop and moved him to the side of the building. Hotguy watched from a distance and didn’t respond until Grian turned around, hands on his hips.
“Just wanted to check on you, it’s been a minute. Wondered if the heroes got you. Was hoping I might have the chance to plan a daring rescue, which might help my chances of winning you over.” Hotguy leaned on the building, shooting Grian a sly glance.
“You make it sound like you’re courting me instead of trying to get me to turn to the dark side.”
Hotguy gasped dramatically and put a hand on his chest. “A Star Wars reference? A man after my own heart.” He then sat up again and walked closer. Too close, and then spoke once again.
“I can multitask birdy.” He said leaning forward until his face was only a couple of inches away from Grians.TLDR: Scar really wants Grian on his side, Grians just trying to live his life, and maybe take down the hero organization while he's at it.

Summary
Losing Damian not only hurt beyond measure but also made Dick the last Bat standing. He had nothing keeping him in a broken world so goes back in time with only one ally (Damian begs to differ) and no plan except to protect everyone he can, at any cost.
Dick starts with making sure Jason never dies at the hands of the Joker and proceeds to track down and love his siblings (while maybe also plotting the destruction of the League of Assassins). He just doesn't realize that a clan of highly trained vigilantes are more than capable of realizing that Dick is not okay, and of returning his devotion with their own.
