“Did you ever honestly see him as a brother?”
Dick feels like he is getting stabbed right in the chest. It feels like something is clawing at his throat, pouring acid into the deepest, most painful injury he has. He will never forgive himself for not being able to find Jason before the Joker killed him. Losing Jason is the single worst thing that has ever happened to him.
And now this bastard is confirming his worst fears: that Jason died thinking he didn’t love him. That he had begged for help from his family - a family that never arrived.
It’s enough to crack him. Tears run down his face.
“I still do,” he whispers.
“Forgive me for not buying it,” Red Hood growls, even though his heart has sped up at the words. “If you had truly cared for him -"

Summary
Jason’s head is still spinning, he’s still cold and his body is still hurting, but at least he can breathe. His body is slowly returning back to life, like bulbs slowly turning on in a long hallway. His heart speeds up, which is a common reaction once he wakes up, like trying to make up for the time it stopped. The numbness slowly leaves his body, and he can move his hands and legs again, but he doesn’t want to.
His vision clears, no longer tinted green, and there is saliva in his mouth again. His lungs slowly stretch.
He sees… Bruce. Shit.
He really, really didn’t want Bruce to see him like this. Let alone the rest of his batkids.
Or, dying and being brutally dragged back to life has horrifying side effects, which Jason really wants to keep hidden from the Batfamily. Until one day, he can't.

Hondo & Maverick transfer up to NAS China Lake to test Skunkworks' experimental manned version of the SR-72, project name Darkstar. This turns out to possibly be the most fraught assignment of Hondo's career, because having Maverick's back through training for that mission turns out to come with unexpected challenges. Instantly everyone was rushing to crowd around the laptop she was holding to try and see the mentioned video. Piper shushed them quickly, fearing the noise would alert one of the patrol harpies that they were all out of their cabin after hours and with mortal technology no less. Once everyone quieted down, Piper looked at the group with a grin, "Lets watch it."

Gods, why can’t my life just be normal for once!
I mean, first, my mum married a horrible and abusive man when I was 2. Then both of them were killed in a freak housefire while I was at school when I was 8.
Then I was adopted and my life in all its horribleness was thrust into the public eye due to my new adoptive father, Bruce Wayne (Yeah, that Bruce Wayne).
Though now being famous wasn't even my biggest problem. The doors of death had closed, and I wasn't on them. Yay!
Though at least Annabeth had made it out. Now I just have to figure out how to survive down here. This should be fun.
