Jason scrolled through the whole Wayne wiki, then the public records of his public school, and then he hacked hospital files, police files, even FBI files, but came up with nothing. No Jason Todd. Sheila never got pregnant. Cathy and Willis never had a child. Willis never went to prison. Cathy never overdosed.
Jason Todd didn't exist.
In short, Jason gets transported into an AU where he doesn't exist. Magic becomes the very essence of his being, his killer and saviour.

Summary
It's ironic to him how the only time that Jason ever means anything to anyone always seems to be when he's nearly dying.
Maybe that's the point though, maybe no one's meant to care for him. Not when he's not even realistically supposed to be alive.
Or in which Jason gets abducted, he doesn't expect anyone to rescue him. Especially considering Dick and him aren't on the best of terms at the moment. But when his older brother gets captured while out searching for him, things change.
And Jason will stop at nothing to ensure the elder's safety. Even if it means risking his own.

"Jay," Bruce stops him, hands up. Jason can't help but let his gaze trace the wrinkles and grays he doesn't recognize, the scars he doesn't know the stories behind. "This is your home. Somehow, when you died, when we all thought you died... it wasn't you. You switched places with yourself from another universe, and that's the universe you've been in since your death."
Disbelief surges within him and Jason rolls his eyes, scoffing as he leans back against the wall and tries not to show how much the throbbing in his leg is bothering him. It doesn't work, of course. You can't fool Batman.

When Superboy Prime messed with the timeline, he brought Jason Todd back to life by pulling one from another multiverse. One that wasn't supposed to die. That sense of wrongness that's followed Jason around since he was brought back, the little inconsistencies in his memories, it all adds up. With those words, an idea sparked to life. Jason had a lot of problems, but a load of bat-money could solve the most pressing of them. “Are you fucking with me?” Jason turned to glance at Dick over his shoulder.
“I’m being so serious right now.”
Against his better judgement, Jason shook Dick’s proffered hand firmly. "You’re on, Dickface.”
OR: Jason, desperately in need of some cash, has no choice but accept Dick's foolhardy bet. If he can spend a week in the manor, attending every family dinner, without getting kicked out, he wins. Secretly, Dick is hoping that Jason can learn to fit back into their little family in the process.

It was so weird Jason almost forgot to scowl. Almost. Then he had a better idea and switched to a smile, making sure to add in a bright, cheery voice for the reply. "No, I'm sleeping fine. But I keep having this dream some dumbass comes into my room and asks stupid questions."
Dick just snorted. Then cooed. "Aww, glad to hear my little brother actually dreams about spending time with little old me." He finished by tacking on a razor-sharp grin.

Summary
It's easy to be overlooked when you grow up in the shadow of a circus kid, but the truth was, Jason Todd was a showman through and through.
Staging, timing, delivery…he understood the little bits and pieces, the moving parts, the interlocking details that made things compelling. That moved the audience.
(Some members of his audience were more appreciative than others.)
Unfortunately for him, life seemed to pick the very worst parts of his saga to demand encore performances of. And he still couldn't seem to stick the landings.
But hey, if at first you don't succeed?
Die, die again.
(…At least he was building a fan club this time. Practice makes perfect.)
A.K.A. Gotham loves a good (bad) sequel almost as much as Hollywood. But it doesn't count on Jason gathering up a support system more stubborn than Death itself.
