Summary
In the deserts of Hoodoo Gulch, there is a myth of Coyote. A fae and Trixter spirit, she lives inside of the Mirage; she brings the dust storms that scour the inhabitants and plays tricks on those who travel too far from civilization.
Ten years ago, Felix Durham walked into the Mirage and met her inside; now, all these years later, he hears a knock at his door and finds a dirty, confused-looking child—a child with one golden eye and sharp teeth. Felix knew this day was coming, but he just wished it wasn't this one.
This is the story of that child.

This text was initially published in 2017 and is now updated in 2023 with new information. I revisited it after its publication in 2017 because, after its publication, I received several emails from concerned and confused individuals about a number of additional Unseelie that they had defined as house fae.
In addition, a number of papers were published in these intervening years that challenged some of the assertions I made in the first version of this text. While I do keep to that, these are only four true house fae in the northwestern quarter; I have added a handful of additional entries at the end of this text defining the most common fae that are mistaken for House Fairies and why I chose not to put them in the original text. Also the entries of Hobs was rewritten to better define them after the 2019 study done by the researchers at Gwen University, "Effect of Physical and Mental Stressors on the Reproductive Methods of Hobs and Boggarts: A Study on Epigenetic Changes Induced by Heat or Rut in Shooladda Guriga” (Rhyme, Lucas, et.al) as well as my own 2020 study Demographics and the Socio-Psychology of Non-Household Populations of Hobgoblins.

Summary
Omolale, or Ale, is a binder—a magic user who works outside of conventional means, both in where they get their magic and in their choice of career. Ale is easygoing and is just here for a good time if not a long time. They were born under a dark sign, so their life has been, let's say, rough, and up until this point, they haven't really been a Hero type.
However, after meeting a few new people on a prison island, they find themselves making friends for the first time and entering a world of chosen ones and prophecies they've been fighting against their whole life. Alongside them in this new adventure are Sash, the witch; Erina, the necromancer-wizard; and Revazi, the dragon-blooded barbarian. All of whom are more then they may first seem.
Nonetheless, Ale is going to complain the whole time.
