It's not much - just a set of dress whites and matching kit - but it might be enough to get him in and out of the cruiser undetected.
"Hey, just wanted to check and see if you're rea-" Cal's voice cuts off abruptly, and Bode turns to him standing there with a strained expression on his face, his cheeks burning bright red.
Or: Cal finds out he has an uniform kink, and Bode obliges... but not without teasing him about it first.

After two months of sweating over the checkout counter, Will was more than ready to get away from Hawkins. He was, admittedly, a little excited to spend some one-on-one time with Mike, too, who had spent most of June and July in Michigan teaching math to brainiac summer camp kids. With them both going away to college in just a few weeks, these last few moments of summer were precious.

Mike can hear the smile in Will's voice when he picks up, and it’s startling how easily he can imagine it.Will, leaning against the wall of his new house. Probably wearing bright colours and flip flops- or whatever it is that Max keeps assuring him everyone in California wears. He knows the exact angles at which Will’s smile tilts, different depending on whether he’s teasing or just excited.
Closing his eyes, Mike tries to remember the angle of El’s smile.
He can't. It troubles him enough to ruin everything.
“Is El there?” he asks. When Will responds, there is no longer a smile in his voice.
Only a couple of Mike's calls to Lenora actually go through, and he never says quite what he means.

Mike caps the cup and slides it across the pickup counter to Will, following it up with a wrapped straw and his wrapped lemon loaf immediately after. “Medium iced chai with oat milk and brown sugar syrup, and a lemon loaf for yellow flannel guy!”
Will grabs his straw, shooting a disapproving look at Mike as he carefully unwraps it. “Remind me to never wear this flannel in public again.” He grabs his drink, slipping his straw into it with steady hands.
“Nah, it looks nice on you. Don’t let me stop you, Just Will.” Mike is grinning so hard his face hurts. He’s more awake than he was previously, most of his exhaustion washing away throughout this interaction.
Will sighs, his cheeks going slightly red at Mike’s compliment, bringing his straw to his pink lips and taking a small sip. Mike watches Will’s gaze travel down to Mike’s chest, his eyes stopping on his name tag for only a second before they dip slightly lower. His lips quirk up into a small smile as he swallows his sip of chai. “I like your pin, by the way.”

Mike works at the on-campus coffee shop and Will really likes iced chais.

“Nothing,” Will says, right into Mike’s ear. “Still feeling good?”
So good. Mike makes sure to not say it aloud this time. “I think,” Mike says slowly, heart pounding, “I need” — Will pulls back just a little, just enough for their noses to bump against each other, clumsy, and Mike bites the bullet — “one more.”
Will is still in Mike’s lap, which is maybe not very platonic of him, and the joint has smoldered its way down to the end, nearly over, all eaten up by the fire. Will swallows thickly, then leans closer, a perfect imitation of their positions from earlier. Mike isn’t sure how long it’s been, but fire has been eating away at him too, this whole time, leaving him on the brink of going up in smoke, slow and burning and so good.“Yeah?” Will murmurs, realization dawning on him, eyes wide. “One more?”
or: Mike’s still new to this whole smoking thing. Will has a few ideas.

Honestly, fuck “crazy together.” Mike’s going to have to deal with this – whatever this even is, holy shit – all by his lonesome. Will can’t – he can’t – Jesus Christ.
“But – but you just asked me if I want to go on a date with you. Did I hear that wrong? What am I missing here?”
Mike scoffs again, almost frustrated. Will wants to strangle him, just for having the fucking audacity.
“You’ve never had a boyfriend before. I’m your best friend, who is conveniently a boy that you spend all your time with,” he explains, gesturing between the two of them as if Will doesn’t know this, and Will might actually kill Mike if he keeps this up. “So…don’t you think it would make, like, a lot of sense if we tried it out?”
Mike says all of this as if it’s the most obvious thing ever, when actually, he is clinically insane, and Will wonders how any human being could possibly conceive of any idea as deranged as this one.
or: Mike Wheeler, despite claiming to be straight, decides to embark on a series of dates with one Will Byers - who is, of course, hopelessly in love with him.

It takes one, two, three seconds before Will’s heart starts beating again. And another three before he remembers to be mad at him about it. “Don’t call me that,” he protests weakly, but it’s no use. Mike’s grin only grows.
“Anything for you, Your Highness.”
“Michael,” Will hisses, yanking his hand away, but Mike is already laughing. It’s always been easy to get a rise out of him where Mike is involved, which is a fact Mike not only knows, but exploits on the regular. “I’m going to put the venom back in your arm and let your flesh rot off your body.”
Will really wishes Mike would learn that armor does not equate to invincibility. For Mike's own sake, it's probably a good thing Will knows magic.

Will finally felt himself relax into the buzz, feeling light and heavy all at the same time.When their knees bumped under the table, Will felt a fire bloom in his belly. God, he’d missed this. Once the food was gone and the drinks turned to water, Mike settled back, stretching like an oversized cat.

Will watched the other man from the corner of his eye as the professor began speaking. Mike typed steadily, only pausing to chew on his highlighter or raise his hand to answer questions, drawing attention to Will’s little corner and making Will shrink a little at the eyes turned to his general vicinity. Every time Mike spoke, his adams apple bobbed, the tenor of his voice echoed through Will’s ears like a drum and Will shivered at the sound.
Will could barely hear the professor speaking, he was too distracted by Mike’s close proximity. Jesus Christ, how was he supposed to concentrate when all he wanted to do was touch Mike, grab him and shake him and ask why the other man didn’t recognize Will? Why hadn’t he rejoiced at finding his perfect other half? Why didn’t he even look at Will like something life changing and remarkable had happened to them? Will’s face felt hot and he wanted to scream.

“I have an idea,” says Mike.
Ice cubes form in Will’s stomach. “How dangerous is it? Like, should I call Dustin to talk you down, or should I call Nancy to be ready to drive us to the hospital?”
“No,” says Mike, “you can’t tell anyone or it won’t work.”
“Or what won’t work?” Will asks. It’s like picking up a rock you know a spider will be under.
Mike gets up and closes Will’s door. Hopper doesn’t make them keep it open but sometimes Will does anyway, because every now and then lying around alone with Mike on his bed just makes his chest ache too much. If the door is open he can tell himself You can’t do anything right now, someone will see.
Mike leans back against the door. His eyes are lit up with that special maniacal gleam that the Wheelers get right before they do something insane, like when Nancy says, “Then we have to go kill Vecna ourselves,” or whatever. “Take me to the wedding,” says Mike.
“Yeah,” says Will slowly, “you’ll be at the wedding. Obviously.”
