Billy almost flinched at the hand on his shoulder, he wanted to scream at Hopper to get his fucking hand off him. He just shrugged it off instead, rolling his shoulders back. He couldn’t help the chuckle that left his mouth, startling everyone.

“What do you people want? A thank you? You all should have left me in that damn fucking ice.” He snapped, blue eyes turning cold as he stepped forward. Guns immediately were lifted up as if to aim and shoot. Yes, shoot me… kill me. You should have never brought me back. The ice was my prison, my grave.

Chrissy Cunnigham was born in a strange way.
Her mother had a home birth, not really common practice anymore with almost everyone going to hospitals for the birth of their child. But her mother was convinced by her beloved aunt to do so. Promising to assist. Her aunt, Lily, claimed that Chrissy was quiet coming out of the womb. A curious child was years of wisdom in her eyes.
Or she could just be saying that to make her feel better.
But nothing could explain the way flowers turned their heads to get a look at the newborn baby. How, when her aunt took her outside during the days her mother couldn't bear to look at her for half a second, they reached up, up, their petals tickling her feet. She remembered the scent of sweet floral plants, honeysuckle as her aunt sang her a lullaby. Chrissy can't remember the words now but she knew it had something to do with flowers, the mother earth.

It was just a nightmare.
Yeah right. That much pain and anguish ran through him like a live wire, his body ached and it wasn’t because of basketball practice. The dull pain he had been feeling all day, he could no longer ignore. Steve stumbled to his feet, visions of rotten pumpkins and trees plagued his mind. Something was happening to Hawkins again…
And Steve couldn’t ignore it nor could he pretend that everything was fine anymore.

Billy threw his head back, staring up at the tattered ceiling. The roof was barely holding together, just rusted metal with patches of holes. Isn’t that ironic, he thought. The roof was the same as them both, barely holding onto anything in the world. But keeping themselves together, just for each other. Just when they were alone, in each other’s arms, they allowed themselves to fall apart. Steve’s thumb ran over his knuckles, waiting. He was always waiting, ever so patient. Billy turned his head to stare at him, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
“I know.”
“...We could…we could run now. Run from this, consequences be damned…find a nice botanical garden, wait for the dust to settle?”
Billy swallowed, his hand brushed against his neck, Steve frowning at the gesture. Billy shook his head, mouthing When it’s safe. He looked at Hopper and El, the two arguing with each other. “You know I want to, Steve. Not yet…”
