Giving up she drops her hands, and sucks in air. "We're like two squares trying to fit into a circular hole. If we really work at it we can squeeze through, but try as we might we're still the odd ones out."

“No!” Sumire quickly and pointedly looks down at her cup, no doubt to hide the furious blush coming to her cheeks. “I mean, I don’t know if he’s busy. I didn’t ask him.” She lets out a breath. “Believe it or not, I actually wanted to see you.”
For a second, Goro is convinced he didn’t hear her correctly, even though he knows he did. “...Why?”

Summary
At age fourteen, Kurusu Akira kills the only cognitive psientist to object to Shido’s methods under the latter’s orders. His hand doesn’t tremble as he pulls the trigger, but his heart breaks. Still, it’s worth it. It’s the first step towards freedom, and more importantly, his revenge.
Two years later, cursed child Akechi Goro is caught shoplifting, and after a brief chase gets slammed into the pavement by three police officers double his size. The only reason he can't slip out of their grasp is because he hasn't eaten in three days. It earns him a one-way ticket to Tokyo.

Ren shrugs one shoulder and leans back against the movie theater wall, smiling. He’s feeling light on his feet right now. It’s been a bad day, but the end is nice. “Call it penance.”
“Penance for what,” Akechi says.
His smile stays where it is as he glances away for a moment, then meets Akechi’s eyes again. “Being yourself.”

She sighs, hugging herself tighter. “Sorry. I, um…well. It's…easier if I just show you.”
Futaba pulls out her phone and opens the MetaNav. The troubled expression on her face disappears, replaced by mischief. “You might wanna sit down for this.” She doesn't wait for him to sit before activating the MetaNav's voice recognition. “Akechi Goro, Detective Prince."

With the successful execution of their plan to change Niijima Sae's heart and deceive Akechi Goro, the Phantom Thieves have overcome their most dangerous obstacle yet—but one obstacle still remains. Akechi has yet to let the name of his boss and their ultimate target slip. “I didn’t realise I had to seek your approval,” Goro said dryly, and tossed the more expensive option into his basket. He didn’t need to ask who hated his presence around Ren either, but he’s at a point where he wasn’t particularly interested in the validation of others.
“That’s not what I’m saying,” Morgana said, tail flicking against Goro’s ear impatiently, “It just means that I actually want this to go well.”

“But you’re a murderer,” Ann says. Again. He truly, sincerely, honestly, does not know how his dearly loathed rival deals with them.
OR: Akechi may be a murderer, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t annoyed that the only decently tasting vegan curry belongs to his one and only rival’s cafe. OR: A study in obligations.
