It’s simple, if Alex really thinks about it.
Henry’d grown up in a place where protocol and decorum were necessary. Were demanded. They were facts of life rather than a conscious choice, a fully formed habit before he’d even been old enough to understand the need for it in the first place. Alex wants to get his hands a little dirty, rip into the rules and throw them so far away that they can’t touch him ever again, so that only sunlight and stars and whatever else is underneath remains.
So, Alex waits. And watches. Maybe takes some notes. Possibly creates an Excel spreadsheet, just to be thorough, that he will vehemently deny the existence of if Henry ever happens to find any trace of it.
And, sure enough, somewhere in there, a plan forms.

There’s a man in Henry’s bedroom. That, itself, isn’t noteworthy. He’s become rather proficient at smuggling men in and out of his room at Kensington Palace and his first-year flat at Oxford.
It’s not even especially noteworthy that the man is quite arresting. For better or worse, Henry’s title and reputation tend to help him pull gorgeous men with somewhat astonishing frequency. This man is, of course, particularly gorgeous. He’s tall, with olive skin, dark hair, and a bone structure that would send the old masters into a frenzy of pigments, linseed oil, and canvas.
But, perhaps, the most noteworthy thing is that the man in Henry’s bedroom is quickly and awkwardly wiping his eyes with the backs of his hands. That he seems just as surprised to see Henry as Henry is to see him.

Nora isn’t wrong on either front—the man is fucking beautiful. He might be the most stunning human being Alex has ever seen.

Henry can’t bring himself to feel shameful about staring when Alex heaves himself up off of the ground, muscles taut and chest heaving as the crowd goes wild around him, chanting Alex’s name and cheering. He shrinks against the noise and the movement but it does him no use to try to hide, every inch of his body prickling with anticipation.
And Alex looks obscene, a filthy grin stretching his lips with his chin jutted into the air and his fist held high in the middle of the ring above his motionless opponent, the blood from his nose staining his flushed skin and a bit of his teeth, his half-lidded eyes locked in on Henry like a fixation: the predator and his prey.
