This is a sequel to the story "The Soul has Bandaged Moments." Same capable (and slightly odd) Inquisitor, same stuffy (and extremely sexy) Commander.
But now it falls to Evelyn to make decisions about the future: both the Inquisition's, and her own. Evelyn seeks to examine the past of the Inquisition in order to not repeat its mistakes, but she and her companions must also deal with their own histories before they can move forward.
Still a story about a couple of adults trying to make it work, despite their pasts. Still told in the Inquisition's own words through letters and journal entries. Still got humor, sex, friendship, and romance. Pace will be different since I'm going off-canon (with plenty of DLC-lore-related backup), but we'll see how it goes. Whee!

Their lives were good. They were stable. They were safe.
That was ripped away when an explosion and a flash of green light knocked them out while hiking with their family on vacation. Naomi and James woke injured and confused in a strange world with technology centuries in the past, magic, and mythical creatures that only existed in stories.
But they were also dropped into the middle of a conflict they could only begin to understand, where fighting demons was more than just a figure of speech.
Life in Thedas is dangerous, adjusting isn’t easy, and things get worse before they get better.
