    Katsuki and Izuku are best friends and occasional hero partners.

    It’s been two years since Katsuki's disastrous agency offer was denied and led to Izuku and Ochako’s relationship, and he's totally not still hung up about it all.

    Izuku and his girlfriend are living the dream, and as long as Katsuki can convince himself he’s good just being friends with Izuku, he’ll be fine.

    But then a quirk accident happens in the middle of patrol and someone creates a baby. Their baby.

    Katsuki is, of course, distraught. At 27, this is not at all what he had planned for his life. A daughter? With the love of his life who is in a committed relationship with someone else?

    But despite all his fears, he decides that he will step up and be a father.

    Izuku decides the same, and Ochako readily agrees to take on a role as a mother. Wait—what?

    Oh fuck no. Katsuki is not about to get kicked out of his own daughter’s life!

    The jar phone or string phone is a device for transmitting voice over long distances. The ancestor of today's telephone, known in the past as “the lovers' telephone”. All five-year-old Kacchan needed to be happy was two paper cups, a string, and a Deku to talk to on the other end. Twenty years later, all that remains for the adult Bakugō Katsuki are the broken remains in his hands, except for Izuku; he must throw everything away along with the shards of his equally shattered life.

    Or in which, some time after the games, Yuuei, the war, new beginnings more like endings, Katsuki could not lead a life more different from the dreams exchanged through a string: their string, now wrecked.

    A beautiful flush deepens, and Katsuki’s flustered pout is too irresistible. He smacked a palm into Izuku’s chest to reprimand him when he leaned in for a kiss. “Stupid alpha. Always trying to get into my panties.”

    “Oh, but Kacchan knows I hardly have to try—ack!” The sudden flick to his forehead makes him wince, but it tugs a breathless laugh out of him, too.

And just like that, a lightbulb turned on inside his head, a revelation, a hint from the gods. He smiled brightly, grabbing Bakugou by the arms. “Bakugou!” He called out for the other who had clearly gotten whiplash from the change in moods, “How about I be your heat partner?!
