“Why the fuck would you say that?” Eddie hisses, cheeks aflame again. “What is wrong with your-”
“That’s all I’m saying,” Gareth interrupts airily, hands up in mock surrender. “No further objections. You’re just a natural disaster, and I’d rather keep the apartment a conflict free zone, so.”---
Eddie and Gareth require two new roommates (must be okay with illegally housed cats, must be chill with late night band practices). Robin and Steve require a place to live, and have little to no other options.
Months down the line, Eddie still finds himself tongue tied and avoidant around his very hot-probably-straight-weirdly-intense new cohabitation buddy, which is all very well and good- until they end up snowed in together during a powercut, and are forced to get a little cozy together <3- Language:

The god just laughs and glances over his shoulder at his own ass.
“Not much there to be considered pompous, I’m afraid,” he says before he turns back to Steve, no trace of the anger that Steve is choking on found in his face. “I like celestial master, has some dramatic flair to it. But Eddie will do just fine.”
“God of wine making and pleasure,” Steve says automatically.
“Also of orchards and fruit, fertility, ritual madness, religious ecstasy and theater, darling,” Eddie does a little bow himself. “At your service.”or: after helping Tommy slay the minotaur, Steve gets left behind on a small island to die. That's where he meets Eddie, god of wine and pleasure. Steve doesn't like gods, but this one is different. This one might help him heal from all his trauma, guilt, and broken heart.

“One, do not fucking kiss me,” Steve says, clicking on a lamp. The guy nods, taking off his jacket, throwing it on the floor as he stares at his mouth while he talks. “Two, this is a one time thing.”
The guy laughs, grabs onto Steve’s wrists, “that’s not going to be a problem.” “Because once you have me, you’ll want me again,” Steve oozes confidence, all babygirl and bratty. It’s so easy for him to be like this.
He scoffs, “oh please. Who do you think you are? Really?”
He tightens his grip on his wrists and pushes him against the wall. Fuck, okay, it’s going to happen right here.

Except Eddie knows that small business bookstores have dropped like flies because they can’t compete with Harrington Books and other big-name store prices. Eddie’s about to whine some more when he feels his phone vibrating. His stomach does a little bit of a flip, but he tries to play it cool as he stands up nonchalantly and places Chrissy’s phone in front of her before digging his own out of his pocket.
She figures it out anyway. Eddie needs to practice his nonchalant face more.
“Is it Scoops?” Chrissy asks and grins into her cup when Eddie shoots her a scathing look.
“You’re incorrigible.”
“So it is Scoops!”
Eddie rolls his eyes and unlocks his phone. The message is indeed from scoopsahair, his internet friend.

So, Eddie makes a deal to make someone fall in love with him within ten days to get his songwriting title back, maybe finding actual love along the way.

“My parents had a house model, when I was little,” Chrissy volunteers, “she was really nice. Mostly she did all the chores and meals and stuff. Ordered the groceries. She was so good at Mahjong.”
“Huh. Do you think this guy will play Rummy with us? It’s better with four.”
“You’re cute,” Chrissy tells her, before kissing the tip of her nose, “should we have a countdown?” She asks, turning her attention to Eddie.
“Only if you’re willing to do it more than once if this doesn’t work?”
Chrissy wrinkles her nose, “probably not?”
Eddie shrugs, flips his visor screen down, and hopes for the best.
