Summary
The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
“Go!” Grian shouts as the monster charges, putting his whole force into the blow.
Scar watches, frozen stiff as Grian fights until blood and gore and viscera mark the creature up like a Pollock painting.
“What are you waiting for?!” Grian snaps when he finally notices that Scar is still standing there. He grips his weapon tight and attacks a final time, slamming the zombie down—good and dead—and standing panting over top of it, strained but victorious. He starts rushing from the scene, calling back for Scar over his shoulder. “Run!”
And in a way that’s as familiar to him as breathing, Scar chases after him.

Grian cuts the idea short in what he hopes doesn't come out as an obvious deflection. "Who hasn’t?"
Scar sees through it of course, turning his head to stare at him in the quiet of Grian's room, the messy spill of his hair rubbing against the sheets. The view shouldn't be endearing, really, because Scar's cheek is kind of squished on the flat line of the mattress, but it's something in his eyes that strikes Grian's heart in its entirety - a spark hidden in the depth of his irises that encloses the whole of his heart.
"I haven't." He shamelessly states, waiting for the brief second of confusion to leave Grian's face.
It might leave his expression but it does not flee from his mind. "What does that have to do with me?" He's just- surprised, really, that Scar had yet to use his very kissable lips on anyone. Not that he'd thought about the kissability of them before, of course.
"Well, my good sir," Scar says, rolling closer to Grian with his trademark grin hanging on the corner of his lips. "Maybe it'll have everything to do with you if you're amenable to a deal."
Grian breathes, letting go of his pen to properly look at Scar. "A deal?"

After several failed attempts to kill Lizzie to get back to Yellow, Pearl decides to try sweetening the pot. Gem is not happy when she finds out.
"Lizzie lets out an involuntary noise & digs her nails into Pearl’s bicep with her newly freed hand. The angle of her body presses forward, silently begging Pearl to come closer.
Pearl chuckles darkly. 'Thought so.' Her thumb, already toying with the space between Lizzie’s shorts & the tucked in portion of her blouse, skirts around until the pointer finger opposite of it catches on the button. Slowly, Pearl undoes it, then inches her fly down.
'WHAT THE [redacted] IS THIS?' another voice sounds from behind Pearl, accompanied by loud stomping through the detritus of the forest floor.
Pearl is bodily yanked away from Lizzie by strong hands, smaller than her own. Those same hands connect to her chest & shove her away from her prize.

Summary
From June to August, we follow Queen Lizzie's life as she works for the realisation of the White Dove Peace Treaty with the other empires.
We open our eyes on the Queen bathing in her Ocean, as she ponders over myths and folklore, then watch as she receives royal mail, good news.
We see her welcome the new Ambassadors, Lady Pearl, Earl Cleo and Dame Gem, to the Accolades to become royal knights and Oceankin.
They seal the Olive Branch Ceremony with a good evening amongst friendly emperors and strangers.We stare as she suffers from divine madness and falls to nightmarish episodes, real and sleep induced, mocked then comforted by the Prophecy Pamphlet, healed by her new court witch.
In-between the continuous jealousy, arguing and bad history between previous home empires - wars, blood, death - , we see them hang, have fun and enjoy the festivals, the food, the company, dancing and finally, we see them bond, lonely as they are, looking for friendship.
We observe as cracks form, gold fills them continuously.
We watch them leave. We watch Lizzie leave her home.

It’s been made impossible to ignore in the newest edition of this bitterly familiar death game, where time is now a countdown shoved insistently in a player’s face, the audible trickle of sand slipping through the neck of an hourglass, the ticking of a clock’s hands that echoes throughout the very coding of the world itself. It has become as valuable a resource as food or amour, and it’s more important than ever that one makes good use of their limited time.
Making good use of time does not include—as Grian is currently in the middle of doing—shoving a tongue down the throat of one GoodTimesWithScar.

Gem is the youngest of her siblings (Joel, Scott, and Cleo) and the fourth in line for the throne of Ebbin. After earning her knighthood, she goes out with a group of knights (Impulse, Jimmy, Scar, Squire Bdubs, and Mage Tango) adventuring. On these adventures Gem goes by the name Taylor, when not in Ebbin, and with a little help of some magic, she is perceived as guy in the kingdoms that have made it against the law for a woman to be a knight. The latest adventure was defeating a dragon that was tormenting both the Kingdom of Ebbin and Cidagor. The King of Cidagor hears of the victory and summons the crew to receive the reward he had put out. His Eldest son (Grian) sees that Gem would be a better match for his sister (Pearl) than who his father currently has planned for her, so with the help of his advisor (Mumbo) they convince his father to bestow Pearl as the reward to Gem for making the killing blow.
TLDR Gem is fucked and needs to keep everyone believing Shes a guy. With the help of her crew, she might just be able to pull it off.
