Summary
Tim tried to believe, if only for a little while. In kindergarten, his class had written letters to the big man...Tim's was only one sentence long.
"I want mommy and daddy home for Christmas."
They'd been in Egypt through New Year's.
He wrote again in first grade.
"Please let mom and dad be home for Christmas."
And in second.
"Please, if you are real at all, can you bring my parents home for Christmas?"
He hadn't really truly believed in the mythological man, but boy had he wanted to. Boy had he tried.
OR
When at a Wayne Enterprises Christmas Gala, Tim meets "Santa". Reluctantly, Tim asks him for what he's always wanted for the holidays - to be with his family. He just might get his wish, even if it's not exactly in the way he would have ever imagined.

It was their anniversary this weekend, and Alex had plans. Plans that didn’t involve him practically chained to his desk or missing dinners, or kisses that were too exhausted on both sides to lead to anything more. Henry deserved his full attention. Deserved more than Alex could ever give him, really. Henry was incredible, and Alex was no less head-over-heels for him than he’d ever been, even after more than a year of domestic spats and morning breath and waking up in the middle of the night to let David outside.
He’d thought that coming home from work early would be a nice surprise. He hadn’t expected to see Henry’s suitcase splayed open on their bed, half-packed.
Or: Alex thinks Henry is planning to leave him. Henry is planning to take him to Paris.

The first time Henry sees it happen, he knows instantly that it is not the first time it has ever happened. They’re sitting in the living room of the brownstone, the two of them surrounded by their favorite people in the world, a night of board games long abandoned in favor of mocking the eighth season of Game of Thrones.
“God, don’t you have an off switch?” June groans, laughing as she chucks a piece of popcorn in Alex’s direction while he rambles passionately about the international legal implications of the Red Wedding. Nora cackles. “Whatever you do to thank Henry for putting up with you, it’s not nearly enough. Jesus, I can’t believe he put a ring on your loud mouth.”
Or: Alex is fine. Really, he’s fine — he just wants Henry to stay, even if Alex is too much. Henry just wants his husband back.

She stares at him like she's looking inside of him, like she's searching for something. It makes him feel like he's been sliced open, right down the middle, for her to dissect like a fucking science project.
"You just stopped yourself, took a deep breath, and reset in the middle of a sentence, when you noticed your temper flaring," she states. "Is that something you used to do?"

Roy lets out a soft laugh, pressing his forehead against Jamie’s as he closes his eyes.
“Yeah,” Roy agrees. “And you’ve got two good knees. That’s fucking embarrassing for you.”
Jamie lets out a loud laugh, jostling Roy a bit where they’re connected. “Fuck off, dickhead. You complain all the time about how exhausting Phoebe is. All grumbly and fond.”
“Maybe,” Roy gives, easing a little bit further into Jamie’s grip. He can feel one of Jamie’s hands playing with the small hairs on the back of his neck—fingers smoothing and then pulling in an intoxicating rhythm. It’s soothing, Jamie’s touch. It’s soothing and lovely in a way so many things in Roys life aren’t.

"Really," Crowley says, and laughs, sharp and mean. "They gave you the job and not the authority to run it? Well, isn’t that a surprise. If only someone had told you."
"That's not how these things work! It's just—slow going, is all. Change takes time, Crowley."
"Sure, yeah. Climb your way up, but not too much, ey?"
"It's not about me," Aziraphale says, snappy, in that holier-than-thou voice. Crowley smiles mirthlessly, bares his teeth.
"No, you're just a tool for the greater Good, are you. How's that working out, d'you think?"
"Swimmingly, actually. The Metatron really appreciates my suggestions." He smiles—soft, wondrous, almost disbelieving. Crowley wants to scratch it out of his face. Wants to shake him until he comes to his senses and drops to his knees and begs him—
"I always knew you were naive, but not this much," he hisses. "They're going to chew you up and put you through the grinder until you can't take it anymore and then, when you finally, finally snap, they'll cast you down like they did the rest of us."
Aziraphale's eyes flick down once—to his mouth, Crowley realizes, and abruptly steps back, face prickling with shame. Shame, him. Imagine that.

Summary
The energy of the room shifts suddenly as Jamie’s eyes widen. It’s as though he’s just waking up, looking around quickly to get his bearings straight- as if he doesn’t remember coming to Roy’s house at all. Maybe he doesn’t. When his startled expression finally lands on Roy just off to the side, Jamie’s eyebrows raise even though his shoulders relax. He looks down at the bath again.
“What’s this?” Jamie asks as he combs a hand through the beer head of bubbles on top of the water.
“A bubble bath,” Roy says gruffly. He stares straight forward at the open-faced cabinet in front of him that has piles of fresh black towels on each shelf.
A pause. “You put me in a bubble bath?”
or the one where roy and jamie have a run in with tarrt senior and roy has no idea what he's doing even though he's trying really hard

Summary
“I don’t want to see him again,” he says, hoping that leading with the part he knows Ted probably won’t have an issue with might make the next bit less difficult, “and I know you didn’t say that I should, but I also don’t… I tried, and I don’t want to forgive him neither. And that one you did say I should do, and I know you said it was for me and not for him, but it still feels like- like saying nothing he did mattered."
Jamie takes Ted's advice to heart - he forgives. Or he tries to. But it doesn't make things better. It doesn't free him from anything, and the text he sent his father makes everything so much worse, even though it hasn't been answered yet. When Jamie reaches his breaking point, he goes through a series of three conversations, seeking help determining whether something is wrong with him, whether it's okay to not forgive, and whether it's okay to decide that he's done trying.

It’s wound down to its barest parts, the fucking bones of an emotion, too tired and too hopeless for anything else. It’s quiet enough that Roy understands that it is pointless. Jamie doesn’t flinch for attention. He does it because he is scared.

Samantha is clearly gifted, maybe the most powerful witch or wizard to ever come through Hogwarts, and yet she has no idea how to take the curse off. As they work to remove it—and also teach Samantha how to control a power that's becoming more dangerous by the day—will Harry's truths become too much to handle? And will whatever’s going on with Draco just make everything exponentially worse?
