Summary
The way both slave and Legionary alike spoke of the Malpais Legate created an amalgam in Lou’s mind of a horrid beast wandering the wastes; a patchwork monster of marred flesh and muscle with a stone of malice and bloodlust where his heart should be. What she found, instead, was just a man—burned, broken, and left for dead. That fact should’ve made it all the easier to bury her knife in his back, but it only served to demoralize her for failing to do so.
Lou wondered how long it would be before the Legion learned of her failure and sought to silence her permanently, lest she spread word that the Burned Man walks.

Summary
Max was loud in combat. The boom of his shotgun and the steady stream of invective he kept up generally added to the overall force he projected. Lately, rather than simply promising death, he’d begun adding a new, existential level of threat by telling his enemies that they didn’t exist to begin with. It was funny, if not a little unsettling. He was also noisy when he was injured - Pearl was pretty sure the entire colony had heard about it that time he splashed rapt spit on his arm.
So to hear him make a sound like that, soft and surprised, but with a jagged edge of pain… her chest and throat were so tight they burned, even though she already knew what she would see behind her.

Summary
FO4/FNV crossover: John McDonough wasn't always a ghoul called Hancock. After his brother is elected mayor and kicks all the ghouls out of Diamond City, John tries to help as many as possible adjust to life in Goodneighbor. Unfortunately, they don't all take to their new homes and most scatter into the ruins to sink or swim on their own. Despondent with his failure he eventually gives up and heads to Vegas to escape.
Courier Six is on the run after losing the Platinum Chip when Benny fled the Strip. Desperate and scared, she takes her own walkabout. In Zion Canyon, she runs across someone important from her past who convinces her that her fight remains in Vegas, where it always has. When she decides to return, she and John McDonough cross paths and unite to liberate Vegas.
