For once he finally manages to make some new friends and things are looking up. He just needs to keep them from finding out his secret. And some how convince the beautiful green-eyed king of jocks they aren't friends.

The series tracks the next years of their life as they manage their new reality, after-effects of the bashing, their eventual move to New York, and their ever-evolving relationship. Told in first-person chapters from their points of view and some outsiders, with some angst, a lot of hurt/comfort, and loads of humor. Never any big relationship drama, always disability-positive, and no one ever takes themselves too seriously.

Shouto gets hit by a villain's quirk that throws him into a dream world where the world of heroes and villains are only hallucinations and his reality becomes a mental hospital getting treated for these delusions. They start to bleed together and Shouto starts to question which one is truly reality, especially when both feel so real; Izuku tries to help but when both realities have an Izuku who wants him to stay, Shouto doesn't know what to do.
Does he fight to stay in the reality of heroes and villains and superpowers where he has friends and freedom and strength and his arms around Izuku?
Or does he fight to stay in the reality of doctors and medication and hallucinations where he has rigidity and safety and protection and Izuku's arms around him?
