We didn't even kiss.
It had been almost two months since that night. In the early morning, Shane had cleaned up, packed his things and left for Ottawa, to stay at his parents´ cottage for the summer. Any thought to the night before had been banned from his mind and the events were stored in a neat little box in his mind.
On an unassuming Wednesday morning, Shane had woken up like always, planning to go on an early morning run, make a protein smoothie, spend some time with his family and later check by his cottage, which was being built at the moment.
Those plans were cut short, when Shane sat up and felt nausea washing over him. Shane got up and sprinted to the ensuite bathroom, where he started throwing up the contents of his stomach into the toilet. After a few minutes, Shane slowly got up and looked into the bathroom mirror, expecting to see... what exactly?
He looked a bit pale and had noticeable eyebags, but besides that he looked like always. He didn't look sick.Or: Shane is pregnant at different stages during the "situationship from hell" and the relationship and a pregnancy is the last thing he wants

Fuck, he thinks, in russian and in english and in french, even. Fuck.Or, in 2020, Ilya has a (very) unplanned, (very) complicated pregnancy, Shane has to learn that sometimes things don't work out the way he planned, and some other things. Set in The Long Game, kind of.

Shane’s hearing has gone muffled by the time the doctor finishes speaking and he stares straight ahead to the ceiling. Words are being exchanged but his mind is unable to catch up to decipher them. PMDS. Uterus. Pregnant. Twins.
What the fuck.
Something is being smoothed over his face but he feels numb. He blinks for a moment and suddenly the brightness of the room and the voices become coherent again. It is Ilya touching his face, whispering sweet affirmations in order for him to come back into himself.
“Breathe moya lyubov. In and out. I’m here with you. Is okay.” Ilya keeps repeating these sentiments until Shane is finally present in his body enough to speak coherent sentences.
“It looks as though you are about less than 10 weeks along. We’re going to take proper measurements and provide you with the details here. But we also understand this is unprecedented for unsuspecting parents and we want to inform you of your options.” Dr Hammock says.
