He was sick of it, all this waiting, and that was surely what he was doing. Waiting until he finally worked up the nerve to just do it. It wasn’t like he had any other plans for what to do in Paris, and it was as nice of a place to go as any. Not that he’d actually seen much of the sights since he arrived, but he’d been here before, so it wasn’t like he was missing anything particularly new.
Still, he felt like he’d hit a standstill. No matter how hard he tried to drink himself into a stupor, to give himself the liquid courage that killing himself would require, he still failed night after night. It was yet another reminder of his own selfishness, that he valued his own life enough to risk endangering the lives of others by continuing his poisonous existence. It was only further proof that he was a bloody coward, like he didn’t know that already.

aka a Post-Dark Phoenix fic where Charles's plans to kill himself in Paris are interrupted by the appearance of Erik, but he ends up trying to go through with it anyway. Thanks to Erik, he does not succeed and finds new reasons to keep on living.
This is a fix-it fic for Dark Phoenix where I temporarily make things worse in order to make them better.

Of course, that's a rather difficult proposition, given that the man he's hunting is the same as the one he's trying to protect. I recently read a minifill wherein Charles died trying to give birth to a son and Erik never got there in time because when Charles wrote to him to tell him the news, Erik ignored all the letters.Could we have fill somewhat like that but Charles survives and Erik never knows having never read and thrown out almost all the letters. Then come years (up to the anon how old the child is) later, Erik finds out that he is the father and confronts Charles. Accusations fly until it spills out that since Erik never replied, Charles assumed Erik never wanted anything to do with them.
Summary: Max Xavier, 7 year old telepath and genius, attempts to make his Daddy feel better by bringing his Father and Aunt Raven home.

But stray Death Eaters from the battle are re-grouping for a final stand to take out the great Harry Potter, and their traitor, and Harry and Snape must put aside their differences to end the fight once and for all, whilst also dealing with Snape's illness along the way. No slash. Explores darker themes of grief, self-blame, PTSD, depression, and suicidal ideation.
I dedicate this story to my father who passed from a long battle with cancer at 61 years old on 15/03/2023 - whose journey was the inspiration for this story. xx

Charles Xavier has been through too much. After losing his mobility after the events of the mission in Cuba, he's a shell of the man he used to be.
Finding release in alcohol, he tries to forget all of what he has lost. He tries to move on with his new, broken family.
But one man stands in the way of his happiness- the same man who took it away to begin with and broke his family. The same man who had caused Charles to become paralyzed from the waist down- Erik Lehnsherr.

Four years ago, Odin told Loki his birthright was to die. If only he knew.
When the Laufeyson was born small, too small and frail to survive, the solution seemed obvious. Though it had been many a generation since it had been done, the child was brought forth to the Casket, to be bound to its' power in an ancient ceremony that would imbue the little one with all the strength of a typical Jotun. That ceremony was interrupted by battle, and the child was left with the unguarded casket, in the hopes that the casket could keep it alive until it was safe to finish the ceremony.
That ceremony was never finished.
Over a thousand years later, the Casket of Ancient Winters is destroyed during Ragnarok. No one thought this would be an issue, least of all Loki. Guess what.

Mutli-verse fic: Dark!Tony vs Light!Tony, with Slave!Loki as the prize.
In “our” universe, everything up to Infinity War happened, Tony Stark is Iron Man, Loki died, the Snap happened. In the “Other” universe, Tony did not become Iron Man, he never ended his weapons production, he’s still the Merchant of Death. After the events of The Avengers, Loki finds himself in Shield/Hydra custody and Dark!Tony is his keeper, and he uses him to create magic-powered weapons (or that is what he will ADMIT using him for). Light!Tony crosses to that universe to find a way to reverse the snap, finds out what Dark!Tony is doing to Loki. He tries to rescue Loki but Dark!Tony doesn’t want to lose his favorite chew toy.
