It’s sort of funny, in a way. That Nighteye’s treatment of Izuku only comes up after he’s already dead. After it’s already over and Izuku’s already moved on.
And he has, for the record. Moved on.
Honestly, he’d much prefer it if people stopped pretending like this was a big deal.

“I’m not using their names.” Izuku’s face pinched like he sucked on a lemon. “They’re all naive morons.”
Calling somebody a moron jarred something loose in Izuku’s head. He’d never call somebody he worked with a moron, that was just rude! He felt mortified that he opened his mouth and said such a thing, and yet he felt, simultaneously, that it was entirely appropriate and something he’d say without hesitation. The new recruits were all naive morons, but he was secretly grateful for it, even if he’d never admit it. It meant people could still be naive morons, even in the middle of all this death and hate and ash.
“Yeah, but you’re still in charge of them,” his friend replied, spinning around in his chair to get a proper look at him. Despite his friend knowing why he didn’t use their names, here he was, insisting Izuku do it anyway. “They need something to look up to. You’re their biggest source of morale right now. The least you could do is bother to learn their names before we ask them to charge into the gates of hell to face the devil himself.”

When he finds the courage to leave the comfort of her steam shrouded bathroom, he makes his way out to the living room.
He stops in his tracks when he hears her, a fond smile etching onto his face.
He’s careful to disguise his footsteps on the vinyl floor, not wanting her to stop. He was rapidly beginning to realize he could listen to her sing forever.
She flits around the kitchen, alternating between humming and singing along to whatever music played in her ear, and all Frank can do is watch.
“Oh!” She says with a jolt when she finally notices him, “Frank! How are you feeling? I made spaghetti…spaghetti’s okay, right?”
“Yeah.” He nodded, “Yeah, spaghetti’s okay.”
She shuffles out of the kitchen a few moments later with two bowls in tow, “We can sit at the table, the couch…whatever you’re most comfortable with. If you want we can put something on the TV, that’s what Becca usually likes to do…”
“I like when you sing.” He can’t stop the words from coming, and he doesn’t regret them one bit when he watches her face change shades if only slightly.

Frank does what he’s told, because with this woman only a couple inches away from his face there’s no way in hell he’d be able to tell her no. Up close, she’s even more radiant with her hazel eyes that sparkle in the moonlight. They narrow as she presses the cold rag to the lower half of his face. The concentration in her expression makes it feel like he’s her patient or something, rather than just a stranger at the bar. But the delicacy of her touch paired with her hand resting on his bicep makes Frank feel like he’s the only man left on earth.
It's a Saturday night in Pittsburgh. The last one before Frank Langdon's a married man.
