Summary

Will the three teenagers be convicted of rape? Will Steve keep the baby? Will Eddie and himself bond over this awful trauma? Would the baby even survive? Only time will tell...

Grasping beasts with horrifying maws that hunt in packs and steal livestock. Monsters to frighten children and explain the rituals that drive community life.
Every year, a sacrifice is made to the old gods. A sacrifice for prosperity, but also protection.
No one is to leave the village after sundown.
Always wear a protective amulet when in the forest.
All is well in Hawkins. The rituals keep them safe. Until young Will Byers goes missing. Barbara Holland, next. Kindly tinker Bob Newby is found dead, chest ripped open on the forest edge.
Fear grips Hawkins, but perhaps a new sacrifice, one closer to the old ways will appease the devil.

Under a much different circumstance, Eddie would have loved to have Steve’s eyes looking over him like that, would love to have that determination focused on him, but Eddie is very much dying, he knows it, so he smiles at Steve’s misplaced confidence instead, “High expectations, Stevie. Where’d you learn to swing like that anyway?”
“I’ll tell you,” Steve’s voice is a bit shaky, his tone wavering, even as he puts on a brave face, “but you have to stay alive, Munson.”
If he had more strength, he’d consider testing his luck one last time, tease Steve by asking if he swings for Eddie’s team, but- he’s tired.

Seeing the words laid out like that so bluntly makes his heart ache.
