“That is a demand.” His words are well-honed, like the sharp edge of a razor. But they are not unkind. His thumb is warm against the back of Zhongli’s hand, which now lacks his usual glove. “On your knees,” he requests politely.
They have done many things together, shared many new and pleasurable moments, but never something like this. Zhongli has submitted to Childe (Ajax, Ajax, Ajax) in a multitude of ways, but never has he prostrated himself so. He goes to his knees. Settles between those thighs, palms resting against the top of Childe’s rough trousers hesitantly.
There is nothing… sexual about this. Sensual, yes. Vulnerable, absolutely. Zhongli tenses as Childe lifts a hand. Softens when those fingers card through his hair gently. “Relax,” says Childe. “I just want you to rest, and I know that you won’t if I don’t make you.”
In the aftermath of Zhongli revealing that he is Morax, he goes into an unexpected heat. Lonely and bereft, he goes to the last person who'd want to see him--Childe.

Summary
Zhongli wants Childe to be his child. His offspring, dependent and in need of a kind, gentle hand to guide him. It makes Childe's stomach churn just to think about it. Does Zhongli really understand that he can't do this to Childe? He's an adult, capable and learned. And Childe has a family back home, actual parents who love him and who are waiting for him to come home when he's stuck in some foreign nation as an ex-Archon's forcibly adoptive child.

Summary
An agitated sigh escapes him as he narrows his eyes at the figures, trying to organize his thoughts. Wasn't the supposed Conqueror of Demons supposed to be super busy? Conquering said demons? What was he doing here - in the middle of Liyue, far away from the Wangshu Inn where he usually stays, mind you, holding Zhongli’s hand?
Maybe that last bit irked him more than it should have, judging by the way the thought made his jaw clench to the point of hurting himself. Regretfully, he closes his eyes, tears himself away from the scene in front of him and breathes in deeply. When he finally regains his composure he sends the pair one last glance before deciding he’s people-watched enough.
Whatever, it’s not like love is an option for him anyways.

By listening to conversation, Childe realized that Zhongli never had a proper childhood. So his mission, self assigned, is to give this child the most fun childhood ever while the adepti try to find a way to turn him back.

Childe took a deep breath, and continued. “The name ‘Childe’ is a codename, given to me by the Fatui,” he began. Zhongli knew this part. “The Fatui gave me a different name, replacing my old name, which you know as “Tartaglia”, correct?”
The other hummed in response, nodding. “Correct. I don’t see what this has to do with-” he attempted to say, only to be cut off by ‘Childe’ again.
“I wish…for you to call me ‘Ajax’ when I’m regressed, please.”

Childe nods, shoulders shaking inwards with the cold air nipping his nose and hands. He had forgotten how absolutely numbing it was to be inside the throne room. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
She surveys him quizzically, her chilly eyes trailing down his figure, surmising him. She focuses intently on his eyes, or more specifically, the makeup painted underneath them, the deep and rich red color standing out starkly against Childe's pale flesh.

"I see Morax has placed his Archon stamp on you, essentially marking you as his own. A dragon’s tendencies never seem to fade.” She sighs loudly, eyes rolling.
Childe sits there, stunned. What in Tevyat is she talking about? “W-What?” he sputters hopelessly.

Zhongli hasn't experienced a mating cycle in a long time, especially not after taking on a human form. He assumes that it's one of the attributes that hasn't carried over from one form to the other.
What he isn't aware of is that it hasn't happened because he was lacking the presence of a suitable mate. That's a markable difference this year, and that's the presence of Childe in Liyue Harbor.
So after winter has passed and spring starts to blow in on the breeze, so does a very unexpected and inconvenient situation for Zhongli. He has a composure to keep, a reputation to uphold. He likes order, and control, it doesn't fit his personality- but ... you know what they say about not poking a sleeping dragon.
