Summary
For Anne Grant, being a survivor is nothing new. She and her family survived China, after all. And thank goodness, because if she hadn't learned how to survive there pre war, she might never have made it after leaving the Vault. But now, her husband is dead, her baby died an old man, and everyone keeps looking at her to get things done in a world even worse off than the one she knew before. She had thought it would end with pushing the big red button, but maybe that was just the beginning. With the Railroad imploding, the Brotherhood planning a takeover, and the Minutemen under siege, Anne is going to crash and burn, unless someone helps her land.
This is not a rehash of the main plot. This is mostly before and after. A brief summation of choices will be provided in the notes when needed so that we are all on the same page literally, literarily, and probably also metaphorically.

A young girl who’s hardly old enough to process the situation she was thrusted into just wants to get by day to day without dying, but the eternal and physical struggles of the post Nuclear war ridden Commonwealth are starting to become suffocating and draining the very spirit from her once bright soul. Maybe it’s best if she ends her journey on her own terms instead of allowing someone else to make that decision for her.
Nick Valentine thought she was just another case to close, and that this will all be over in a blink of an eye. But after getting to know a little more about this teenage girl with incredible human capabilities and a tragic past that alludes to something much more sinister at play, he decided he wasn’t willing to let such a young life end so quickly nor let the monsters of the wastes get their claws deeper into her poor soul.

I woke up in the ruins of Boston with a dilapidated flickering Nuka Cola sign above me and knew I was in trouble. To make matters worse I was barefoot, wearing pajamas, and a little high. The only thing that convinced me that this wasn't a really bad trip was when a roach the size of a dog crawled out of a corpse nearby and tried to attack. Blind luck was with me as I slapped it into an old window display that promptly collapsed on the little bastard.I ran before I could find out if it was dead or not.
