Clark hesitated. It wasn’t as though his professional life and his personal life overlapped very often, Bruce and the kids being some of the very few exceptions.
The only way Clark would be able to introduce Bruce to the League, aside from him getting kidnapped and them having to save him, would probably be to bring him up to the Watchtower. Out of the suit. As a civilian. And Clark didn’t see Batman being comfortable with that any time soon.

Clark tries his best to respect people’s privacy, but with super senses, it’s kinda hard to not figure out that Bruce Wayne is Batman. It’s also kinda hard to not fall a bit in love with the guy.
Bruce Wayne finds himself falling for a young reporter who keeps making odd appearances in his life. This man is simultaneously the most lucky and unlucky man, and probably one of the most innocently stupid. Batman is also beginning to form an odd friendship with his new neighbor, Superman. As much as he doesn’t want to like the guy, he can’t get him off his mind.

So, he keeps his contingencies, and he keeps his kryptonite, and he keeps metas out of Gotham. And if he keeps Clark a little too close, it's out of care. Because Batman is careful, and Bruce is scared.
But, beneath his fear, there is the knowledge that, deep down, Clark is a good person.
And, deep down, Bruce is not.Or: an exploration of Bruce’s feelings toward Clark (and the inevitable consequences of falling in love with your narrative foil).
