Summary
Isaac Williams is your average unfulfilled office worker. One day, he is met by Alloces, a prestigious Goetian duke who is desperate to find an apprentice to help him carry out his duties in the living world. He is presented with the offer of apprenticeship with the promise of being granted demonic powers, among other benefits, which he readily accepts. However things go terribly wrong, and Alloces is presumed dead, leaving Isaac to deal with the ever-watchful D.H.O.R.K.S. agents arriving on-scene. He awakens in captivity to find that Alloces has somehow merged with him, causing him to gain the Goetian duke's powers and form, and is broken out of his holding cell by Andrealphus, a marquis who has more to do with his predicament than he lets on. Upon realizing that Alloces is now an inexperienced human, Andrealphus takes advantage of the opportunity and uses Isaac as a puppet in order to perform an extensive power play. Isaac, or rather the new Alloces, is ecstatic about his new life, but his euphoria slowly fades as unanswered questions pile up inside his head. Is his new life really better than his old one? Is his arrangement with Andrealphus only for personal gain or is there something more? Will he ever truly be free?
