It occurred to him that the eye Val had targeted was Vox’s hypnotic eye, the seat of his power; Val had done something similar to Angel in the past—taking the things that made Angel powerful and destroying them, just because he could. The gold tooth in his mouth, in the place of one of his venomous fangs, twinged uncomfortably at the reminder.
