Fingers glided through his curls, stirring the city’s scents. He sighed heavily. The hands moved down his shoulders, across his smooth hips, hesitating for a moment before settling on his perfect buttocks. Star drew him close with an uncertain yet gentle gesture, and he placed his arms around his shoulders, playing with his hair, stroking and curling it between his fingers, just like his mother used to do when he was a child. He held his breath as his body filled with shivers. Star smiled, a false smile. His eyes didn’t laugh. Behind those fairy-colored retinas, there was nothing real.At that exact moment, Gale knew he was about to make the biggest mistake of his life, but he couldn’t think of anything else. He was fully aware of being a stupid idiot, as Shadowheart kept telling him.
He took Star’s bandaged hand in his and brought it to his lips to kiss it. “Thank you, for what it’s worth.” He sighed, closing his eyes painfully, and uttered the Safe Word agreed upon at the reception to terminate the program in case of emergency.

But V has a small accident at the end of her mission which makes for unexplained malfunctions in her cyberware, causing the relic to react as well. Panam and anyone she can recruit have their work cut out for them to save V's life.

Y'know, getting ran over by a speeding supercar in a hit-and-run would be the end for the average joe: an early demise to an unfulfilled life. For me, it was the opposite: somehow, someway, I found myself in the shithole that was Night City in the year of 2018, with nothing but the clothes upon my back and the Cyberpunk 2020 Rulebooks that I had somehow taken with me.
Oh, there was also a crunched-up sticky note from whatever ROB had decided to send me into this shithole, wishing me good luck. I was just a lone man amongst dominate megacorporation's and justified killers-for-hire- but I had just one advantage. I knew the rules. I knew the game. I had my all attributes and skills all displayed upon a translucent piece of paper. I knew what I was good at, and what I needed to work on. In other words, I was built different. All I needed was time to improve- and in Night City, time was a limited resource.

There were a whole manner of strange quirks out there in the world – that Izuku knew for a fact. Yet a quirk which threw someone into a strange new world and eventually dragged them back sounded like something out of a quirk-fiction novel.
At least until it happened to him.
Surviving in a ruthless world underneath corrupt authorities made him appreciate the world of heroes and villains where everything was simpler.
Until he found out the authorities there were just as corrupt and every world needs an edgerunner in some shape or form.
