this scratches such an itch for me oh my god. Jak and Daxter content is limited so this was a wonderful find. The usage of ASL and descriptions of signs is a lovely thing to read about as someone who's been learning ASL for a few years now.

The blonde cozied himself with his back against the end of the cave, legs spread and resting his forearms on his knees. Daxter crawled in after him, raising an eyebrow at the stance. "Mind making some room?"
Jak gestured at the rocks around them, slapping the rocks next to him. In the dark, Daxter hasn't noticed just how tight it was in there. Hell, Jak's knees were practically touching sides of it. The redhead sighed, dropping his head. "Right. I guess I'll just ..." he mused, shifting down to sit near the mouth of the cave. His legs still stuck out, however, and his boots were starting to get flooded with rainwater. Okay, maybe he can shift backwards enough to at least get his legs out of the rain? He tucked them close to his chest, shuffling back and his spine contacted with the hard metal of Jak's channeler ring.
He startled, jolting against his friend. Jak hissed, pressing his hand between Daxter's shoulder blades. "Watch it," he warned, and the redhead rolled his eyes.
"Calm down," he muttered, "A little human contact isn't going to kill you,"

The Precursor Junk gets biffed straight into the Lurker’s face, and it explodes on impact.
Daxter is too busy throwin’ himself to the ground to notice when Jak’s foot knocks the edge of the silo.
But he notices when Jak yelps, and looks up just in time to see him go pitchin’ backwards into it.

It talks. And houses the spirits of a warrior king and his tactician wife from another world.
AKA Jak accidentally comes across the Bracelet of the Shepherd Exalt and both Chrom and Robin proceed to be the only adults other than Sig that give a damn about Jak's wellbeing and despise the absurdity of carrying the fate of the world and "fulfilling his destiny" on his shoulders. After all, they've been through the "time-traveling teenager deserves better than an inherited gift and a world of troubles" scenario before with their daughter.

Breaking into the Krimzon Guard's Fortress wasn't so hard as a two-foot-something furry who could squeeze into tight places and pass for a very confused stray animal if he ever got caught. Gaining access to the lowest levels of this hellhole and tracking down his best friend had been a lot harder, but with time and luck and a some stealthing for information and a whole hell of a lot more forward preparation, even that had gone smoothly enough.It was the part where he and Jak both got out of this daring escape in one piece that was turning out to be the really hard part.
