(This is a romance. Kind of? It's like the main story but slightly off cannon(?) And more beefed up? The tape clicked back on after Poe rewound it, settling the headphones over his ears. It had been two weeks since Anna had taken up residence in his station, filling it with her soft humming and idle chatter. Today, however, she would be gone for hours; moving supplies from her home to his and it was the first time he had had a chance to check over the audio recording devices hidden in various nooks and crannies.
Fast forwarding through the blank times, sleep and when they left the station, Poe stopped the tape when he heard her soft voice speaking again.
“Sooo Pendle... Sweet thing... Come here. I wanna talk to you.”
“Y-ye-yes Miss A-A-Anna?” The bot’s voice was metallic, skipping as one of his wires jostled loose.
“Ohh Sweet Baby... when was the last time PoePoe worked on you? Hmmm? Last time he got his fingers all up inside you to check over your parts?”

“Hmm?”
Anna smiled at the non-committal grunt-question.
“PoePoe. Remember? Hancock asked me to come in and preform tonight. Said he has a job for us but won’t tell me what it is till I, and I quote,” she dropped her voice to a rasp, imitating the ghoul, “sing for my supper.”
“You know... The whole reason I have been working on this thing for a day and a half? Why we had to go scavving at Fallon’s? Any of this ringin' a bell?”
The guard finally broke away from the delicate motors, letting his eyes slide over to Anna as she hauled the bucket of dirty water past him. Sweat coated her skin from working close to the fire and the normally loose material of her tank top clung in the most inviting way. He could see the wide smile that spread on Anna's face at the deep inhale he took as she passed. His eyes slid away before she met his gaze.
Apples and spice, dirt and sweat, tobacco and leather; all the wonderful scents that clung to her skin after working hard and called to parts of him he was determined to ignore.
“Oh yeah.”
“So? Coming or not?”

She remembered the day the bombs fell. The chaos and the fear that caused it.
Waking up 210 years later, in a vault, is an entire group of people that survived. They are big-brained geniuses. Some of the smartest people in what was formerly the US. Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, and more. They were discovered by accident by the Brotherhood of Steel.
But geniuses weren't the only things that the vault harbored.
Mavis, a hardheaded, potty-mouthed Engineer was amongst them. Set to work together with the Brotherhood of Steel as some sort of half forced, half-assed thank you, she often remains in the presence of an equally hard-headed Paladin. They're equally as much a pain in the ass to each other. Will they eventually learn how to put their differences aside? Or part as enemies?
Can Mavis protect her daughter and her sister from the wasteland? Will she be able to protect herself, and her morals? Or will she go entirely mad? Guess we'll just have to find out...

“You’re free to move,” said the Overboss instead. She snapped her fingers and pointed to the radio. “I need that.”
Gage narrowed his eyes. “Why?”
“Because I just killed a guy over one. I’ll get you another, Porter.”
Gage sighed heavily, wordlessly sliding the radio down the bar towards her. “I’m tolerating this ‘cause you’re the Overboss and you’re decent. Don’t get too cocky about it.”

With him crowded so close she can almost taste his lips and she fights the urge to lick her own. “This your way of asking me to off her?” Sole counters struggling to keep her focus solely on his eye.
“I wouldn’t say no” Gage admits and there’s a dangerous edge to his smile as he says it. “But, it makes me wonder just how you’d be a good pet for me” He says and it seems she wasn’t imagining it for Gage’s gaze had dropped once more to her lips before he steps back. “And that’s a dangerous thought for me to have”

After destroying the Institute, Sole goes from job to job until one day while extending the radio towers she hears a recording from Nuka-World. At the end of completing the Gauntlet she meets a raider by the name of Porter Gage. Follow the pair as their relationship goes from tentative partnership to something more as Sole begins to become a true Overboss despite her moral apprehension. Slowburn
