What if Sonic used the power of the Chaos Emeralds to help take out Eggman at the end of Forces, and the Phantom Ruby reacted in an unexpected way?
And what if Sonic never came back?
Some months after the end of the war, the Resistance are cleaning up the damage done to their world. Tails ends up getting caught up in his own fears, only to be saved in the nick of time by a familiar face. Only...the face isn't as familiar as he'd like. Now the Resistance must seek help from a Sonic that might as well be a stranger to them, all while facing the reality that their own hero might really be gone for good.
Can they get along with this new Sonic? And what will happen when Eggman inevitably resurfaces?

It’s been eight months since Sonic and co. managed to take back the world from Dr. Eggman. The world has been rebuilt, but the mad doctor seems to have gone quiet, which is always a source of worry.
Suddenly, Eggman returns with a frightening reveal: the Phantom Ruby wasn’t actually destroyed… and now he can use it to travel through entire dimensions. Accompanied by new technologies, he plans to literally steal the frames per second of other worlds (yes, really), use it to power his army, and take over the multiverse!
With Eggman already having prep work done in several dimensions, it’s clear what needs to be done. Sonic and Tails must gather a cast of new friends, venture across dimensions, and fight to once more put a stop to his evil plans! Get ready, Sonic, Tails… because this is gonna be a wild ride!
