I do vaguely wish keith had more trauma and angst in his childhood but him having a good one and a wonderful family is important to his character in this fic and I also love it immensely bc keith deserves good things

She continues the climb that takes her to the highest peak, the peak that looks down at the city below, the one that surrounds its capital perfectly, the castle where two powerful families united, the house of royalty. The King and Queen of Altea. Yet to her that is not what that building means to her, she is not here to drool over the futuristic architecture that is continuously evolving, the one that feeds the universe with development and progress. For she holds secrets in her mind, she holds power in her blood, and she knows of one fact that can change the course of the peace, in her heart she knows of one thing and one thing only.
The time for Voltron has come again.

Aka Lance and Blue have such a deep bond they ended up switching positions.

Summary
Ever since Pidge revealed she was a girl her team seems to have become a bunch of overprotective, overbearing idiot males and it’s pissing her off. She’s still the same person and more than capable of taking care of herself. But in her determination to prove herself independent she winds up injured. Badly. She can handle it on her own though. She doesn’t need their help.
But hiding her injury has dire consequences and now it’s not just her freedom at stake but her life.
And Lance’s.
The world is falling down literally and figuratively around them and Pidge realizes she can’t save him alone. She needs help. Lance’s help. And as dire as the situation is there’s almost something optimistic about being trapped at the bottom: the only place to go is up.
Now if they can only reach it before time runs out.

Pidge was in the ground and high above it. She could see the oranges and browns swirling and blending through the hills and cliffs, and she could see every grain of sand. The sun glared off the desert floor.
Dirt and dust absorbed every little perturbation, making the desert quiet-- still. Instead, there was another sound, a soft murmur. It hummed from Green, and from the forest, the desert, from existence.
Pidge listened to the quintessence that innervated everything.
In the hum, she stretched.
