And then she is back in her hobbit hole, her beautiful Bag End with its warm wood and cool stone and sweet-smelling air. Gandalf follows her directions for days, pushing this desk into that corner, and turning that chair in this direction. She has him move the furniture again and again as she searches for the Bag End she had left over a year ago, and it takes nearly a week before she realizes it.
“It seems smaller,” she tells Gandalf, when she realizes she has been counting the footsteps it takes to move from the back door to the front. “It had been large before—homey, but large. Now it seems very small.”

George reflects on his un-knightly behavior while under the control of the Dark Gundam. In the process he tries to come to terms with the death of the former Jack of Diamonds whom he had come to respect in the short time he knew him.Excerpt:

The words were full of encouragement and sorrow and hope and George would never forget them as long as he existed. What not only George alone had just experienced was like something out of a fairy tale and it all seemed too unreal to be true. A gallant Knight rushing in to save the day from the corruption and terror of the darkness; then in an instant the Knight was gone as a result of making the ultimate sacrifice. He wished there could have been another way for things to end. In his mind, the former Jack, and it pained him to think of him as 'former', was a shining example of what a Knight should aspire to be. Honor, elegance, mercy, selflessness, wisdom, refinement, dedication, all these words and so many more described this man he barely knew.

All Chibodee wanted was a Shuffle Crest like Domon Kasshu as proof to the world he was one of the best Gundam fighters alive. Now that he has what he wants he's less then thrilled with the title he inherited & his crew isn't helping matters.

'You have got to be kidding me!' Chibodee thought as he stared dumbfounded at what was now showing on his right hand instead of bare skin. It was a Shuffle Crest alright but not exactly what he had hoped for.

The events in the Chamber of Secrets went down differently, and Harry nearly dies. He spends most of his summer in a healing coma, only to wake up in early August blind, and be told there is an escaped convict after him. They don't give him time to adjust before shipping him back to the Dursleys, but he only stays for a few days, long enough for Marge to piss him off and get inflated like a balloon, then takes the night bus to Diagon alley, where he ends up meeting a mysterious man named Rabastan, who helps teach him to accept life without his eyes, and may not be as good as he appears. Harry enters his third year at Hogwarts, and even without the ability to use his eyes, still kicks ass because he is awesome. With werewolves, dementors, an escaped convict who may not be as guilty as he appears, a Death Eater who doesn't want to kill him, a blind seeker, and time-turner shenanigans, this is a year to remember.

Written for culumacilinte's prompt of an AU with a fem!Faramir, which hit all my kinks, because I love ladies, and I love exploring politics, marriages, inheritance issues, etc., through the lens of gender.
It's mostly a re-imagining of the end of RotK if Denethor had one (dead) son and one (living) daughter. Expect a ton of Steward of Gondor feels, because I love that family so much.
