Not veryy proud of this yet, but I'm working it out. I'm writing as much as I can right now because I actually like doing so, but I also have a ton of homework. My detective about a vampire that doesn't want to be a vampire. Set in 1871, Marlin Ashdown (who has lived since the year 1663) works as a detective alongside the London police force. He investigates murders and maybe goes a little crazy.
Please keep in mind that despite the fact that I'm almost fluent, English is still not my first language. Therefore there may be some grammar mistakes or weird sentences, though not many. Slang (esp. Victorian slang) is a weak point of mine, please correct me if necessary.

"SLUTS!" Frederick yelled into the night air. Trying to forget his latest failure, he turned to head in search of new prey, but instead of marching headstrong, he tripped over his trusty bus stop, landing flat on the dark, damp pavement floor. "Agh! Fuck!!"
Frederick wasn't sure whether he imagined it or if it was real, hearing more laughter from strangers nearby. Rain dripped from the end of his nose as he hauled himself back to their feet, the unplaced laughter bouncing off the bricks around him. His rage burnt off quickly in the cold. He pulled his coat tighter, more out of ritual than comfort. He could feel his socks soaked inside his mismatched shoes. It was sudden, like someone had flipped a switch. The breeze stopped, but the garbage bags to his left still rustled, and the rain dried up—just like that. Not slowed. Not tapered off. Stopped. Frederic looked up—and then the light came. A glow that wasn't on anything but somehow revealed everything.
"What the f—" Fred started to say, but no noise escaped his mouth.
