    ”Hello Soundwave,” Ultra Magus attempted to smile but it looked awkward on his usually stoic face. “It’s been a long time hasn’t it?”

    Soundwave growled. Ultra Magnus and his Elite Guard had also been duped by Sentinel. They had served him. They had not even questioned where or why the entire High Guard had suddenly disappeared, believing the lies that they had died alongside the Primes.

    ”Ultra Magnus betrayed us,” Soundwave snarled angrily. “You abandoned the High Guard. You lived in luxury while the High Guard starved and died in great numbers on the surface! And now you follow one who demeans our contributions to Cybertron! One who insults the High Guard and sees us as lower!”

    Ultra Magnus’s optic dimmed slightly and a look of shame crossed his face for the briefest of kliks before he steeled himself once again.

    After Optimus goes missing on a scouting mission near the Decepticon base, Jazz lands on the rescue team and on the battlefield with minimal training.

    The rescue goes predictably awry when Jazz finds himself injured and alone among the Decepticons. Except none of the Decepticons notice that Jazz isn't one of them. Then Jazz finds Optimus, who doesn't seem to realize he's among the enemy and can't even remember his own name. Jazz races to find a way to escape while avoiding Megatron finding out he's there and dealing with his Prime, whose singular memory is that Megatron is his friend.

    Well, Jazz has always been good at improvising.

    In the aftermath of the battle for Iacon, Darkwing is left untethered. His leader was a traitor, his purpose is gone, and all around him, bots he has spent his entire life demeaning are rising to find a new place in their society. He expects to be executed, or at the very least, imprisoned; instead, the new leaders of Cybertron declare that the mine supervisors who participated in their oppression will be rehabilitated. Darkwing has no such interest in ‘personal growth’ or ‘being better’, and he is determined to not let any former miner decide his future, cog or no cog.

     

    Unfortunately for him, B-127 is not the type to give up on a lost cause.
