    It’s been a few years since the events of VLD. The lions have left for who-knows-where. Keith and Lance are together, Hunk and Romelle are together, Shiro and Curtis are together. Pidge, now 21, is watching all her friends grow up and settle into more normal lives. She’s happy for them, but she’s also feeling left out and left behind. Still just the asexual, autistic, socially hopeless one, off in the corner with her tech.
    Then, she starts having bizarre flashbacks to things she’s never experienced, feeling a bond of shared thoughts and emotions forming with whoever’s on the other end. A bond that feels suspiciously similar to the connection she had with her lion. This one might even be stronger. So she builds a homing device to guide her to whoever this is. And it works, pointing her to a previously unknown planet.
    This happens shortly after the events of Transformers One. Any organic species can use their Quintessence to bond with a Transformer like a Paladin would with their Lion. Katie was desperately lonely after losing her lion and Optimus Prime was too after D-16 became Megatron. They accidentally bonded. Feels happen.
