There were a lot of things he was having to restrain himself from, kneeling as he was at the Antarctic Emperor’s throne. His hands were shackled in front of him, resting meekly in his lap, and he was only still wearing his battle uniform because the guards hadn’t had a chance to burn it yet.
Honestly, Dream was beginning to want them to. The looks he’d received, being dragged through the palace in full Esempi garb, felt worse than anything Philza could do to him. Then again, he was sure he was about to be proved wrong.

“I’m sorry.” Tommy whispered from where he sat in the sand, watching his father come closer. But Phil paid him no attention, he didn’t even react to Tommy’s words.
Because Tommy was dead. And now he was only a transparent ghost who wandered their isolated, beachside property.
Tommy watched as Phil reached the ocean, standing with the water up to his ankles, staring at the darkening sky.
“What are we going to do without you, Tommy?” Phil whispered, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment as he spoke, before opening them again. “What are we going to do?”
Tommy moved his gaze to the ocean, watching the waves crash against the shore. He couldn’t make himself look at his father, even if he knew that Phil couldn’t see him anyway. “You’ll move on.” Tommy whispered. “That’s all you can do now.”

Tommy dies and in the aftermath, his family, witches Phil and Techno, grieve. In their grief, they decide to use dark magic to revive Tommy, despite the consequences and its dangers.
Even as an imperceivable ghost, Tommy tries to stop them. Despite being doomed from the start.

"I've known for weeks," Tommy continued, a small smile forming on his lips, idly almost. "For someone who's been trained to be subtle about these kinds of things, you sure did make it obvious."
Wilbur flinched in the doorway, his mouth pulling into a thin line. "Too sweet in the tea." Tommy finished.
"You're still drinking it." Wilbur supplied nervously.

Tommy had not expected to be abandoned at a young age, of course none of the other orphans in the orphanage expected that either. But he did his best to survive and hope to see adulthood. With Tubbo and Ranboo by his side, he was fairly confident about his chances. Then, of course that all came crashing down around him when Tommy was adopted by a vampire hunter.
Now as a vampire hunter in training, he didn’t expect much. Tommy does have one question though;
Why the hell is it so complicated to join a vampire coven?Or
Tommy's an orphan and gets snatched by Eret to become a hunter. And then on a walk Tommy almost dies.

"You deserve love, Techno." Phil started, furrowing his eyebrows.
“You deserve to have a record label find your band and immediately sign you on, and you live out the rest of your life filthy rich, doing what you love, going on tours around the entire planet." Phil swallowed the lump that sat in his throat before going on.
“You deserve to not have to walk on those eggshells anymore. You deserve to feel the sun on your face without it burning your eyes, to eat the best food of your life, to feel warm sand under your feet and watch the sunset over the water, thinking ‘wow, life is fucking beautiful’. All of it, everything. You. Deserve. Love. Techno Blade. Do you understand me?”
After a long moment of uncomfortable stillness, Techno twisted his face from Phil's hands and slumped into his seat.
___________Technoblade is the drummer of a band, and his best friend works at their local record store. Adulthood is a fucking chore.

When Clay wakes up, the first thing he sees is snow. Now, the thought: “did I seriously drink that much?” doesn’t occur in his mind often, but then again, he was celebrating Tommy’s adoption the day before, and perhaps he got too into it.
“Come on, Dream. I’m getting bored over here. They make me talk about my problems with a therapist now, and she’s weird about all those,” a voice calls out; the stranger in front of him makes a vague noise that might be disgust “emotions.”
“Dream?” Clay stares at him, his eyes wide and filled with fear.
“Bruh, did you hit your head?”
Or, a short story set in “The Dreamwalker” universe; in which Clay travels to Tommy’s original world. He’s had his experience with dealing with trauma so now he can use his therapy powers on others.
Or; sometimes you can find your family across universes. Ft. Fixing mistakes that don’t belong to you and learning how to live despite the past.
Would recommend to read “The Dreamwalker” for this story to make sense!
