The thoughts are cut off as Hank’ whole mind grids to a halt.
Connor is in the dog house. The android he’d kicked out last night. The android he’d fucked on his kitchen floor. The android that had been so full of life, so scarily full of emotion that he’d captured Hanks attention the moment he’d met him. Connor is in Sumo’s dog house, and his LED is blinking red.
“Fuck!” Hank all but shouts as his mind starts working again.
He sets about pulling Connor out of the box immediately, trying not to flinch at the unnatural cold of his skin. There’s a moment where Hank tries to rationalize that this might just be an android thing, that he’s supposed to have a cold resting temperature, but the thought is immediately dismissed. Hank knows better, even as the memory causes his stomach to turn. When he’d touched the synthetic skin that had covered the android’s hips it was warm and had a surprising amount of give to it. Connor had been a hell of a lot warmer last night.

“Shoot.” Hank placed a hand on his own knee, looking at Connor with a slight frown on his face.
Connor took a deep breath to cool his warm internal machinery. The coin he sometimes used was out again; Connor flipped it along his fingers in a pattern. His LED went yellow.
“I sent a link to your phone, Hank.”
Hank picked up his phone from the table, clicking on the text Connor had just sent him.

“No, no, hold on.” Hank raised a finger at Connor, motioning at him to stay where he was, while he barged into the Captain’s glass-walled office.
Shouting ensued. A few choice phrases could be heard – “what the fuck” and “no, fuck NO” among them. Connor noticed a few of the police officers at their desks look at the office in a mildly interested way as Hank waved his arms at the RK900 for emphasis.
Hank threw something onto Fowler’s desk, and stormed out. “Right. Connor? We’re going back to my house.”
“But, Lieutenant-“
“Just Hank now, Connor. I resigned.”

Bringing his lips dangerously close to Richard’s, he exhales hot air onto his face, “Do you want to kiss me?”
Richard nods and leans forward to close the distance. With his eyes closed, he doesn’t see Connor poised to strike. The jab hits sharp and fast, jerking Richard’s back in his chair. Eyes flying open, he sees Connor’s tongue swirling around his thirium pump regulator held delicately between a forefinger and thumb.
“You didn’t come here for kisses,” Connor’s voice is low, his lips stained blue. A countdown appears in the corner of Richard’s field of vision and vanishes with a static pop when Connor slides the pump back into place.

Summary
Hot-headed officer Gavin Reed is pursuing an organized crime ring headed by the notorious Nines. Nines has been teasing Gavin along with flirtation and clues, but neither of them expect the tipoff that leads Gavin right into the lion’s den.
