She knows her parents ran away from their home of Berk when they were young to live away from the dragon killers who live there. And now that she has her own dragon, she wants to journey back to her parents homeland and try to change their minds.

Summary
“Look dad, over there!” he cried, pointing out at sea.
Curious, Hiccup looked up and saw a small fleet of ships sailing towards the shore. He instantly grew suspicious. The vessels were not berkians, and by the looks of it they didn’t appear to be merchant ships either. He gestured to Astrid, who also studied the incoming boats. The two shared a nod and hastily dragged their children to hide behind a rock and observe.
As the ships drew closer to the coast more details became visible. Each one carried half a dozen women, all of which were holding a weapon of some kind. Whatever their reason for coming to Berk was, it was clearly not peaceful.

Hiccup hadn’t fully realized how hard life would be without the dragons.
Sure, building houses and getting enough food without the dragons to help was hard, but the real hardship was in people's minds and hearts. Some vikings moved on easier than others, and some couldn't move on at all, succumbing to the "sky sickness."

A short one-shot skimming over the years following the third movie where vikings try their best to deal with their new circumstances, ending with Hiccup going to see Toothless one last time.
