They stared at each other. The rumbling of an engine starting sounded from somewhere outside.
“You really don’t know who I am?”
Max shook his head wordlessly.
“So then… back at the bar–”
“I said the first name that came to mind,” Max said hollowly. “I was hoping that you’d just go along with it.”
The man–Charles–bit his lip, dropping his eyes to where his fingers were drumming on the countertop. His shoulders began to shake slightly, and, for a second, Max was afraid that he’d burst into tears.
That wouldn’t be fair. Max was the one who had been drugged and then essentially abducted, even if it was by a well-meaning, apparently famous person. If anyone should be crying, it was definitely him.
or, Max gets his drink spiked in a club, and rescue comes from an unexpected source.

A different voice shouts his name this time. No longer emanating from his helmet, but coming from just outside the world that he is secluded from. The world outside the blood and metal he’s becoming accustomed to.
He perks up, or he tries too. His car must be pinned, wherever the hell he is–turn three or turn six. There’s a frantic voice calling out his name, and it’s getting closer. Or maybe it’s getting further away. Charles can’t really tell. He can’t even move. His body is pinned in an awkward position and his car being pinned to the wall doesn’t help either.

Summary
Six years ago, vampires began taking over America.
Today, Keith is an upper level vampire commander. Due to his status, he has the privilege of keeping humans in his home, able to suck their blood at will. After he is promoted, he is given the option of a Human harem, a rotation of humans to be drained and eventually killed. Or, as luck would have it, one special human was available. A human with a blood disorder making him uniquely capable of producing red blood cells, to the point where draining him is almost impossible. Keith, harboring a secret the other vampire commanders would crucify him for, has never had much of a taste for killing people, so he opts for the one human, named Lance.
Lance, for his part, is just trying to survive, maybe get some revenge if possible. He hates vampires and the world they've created. He hates Commander Kogane as soon as he sees him, just by virtue of being a vampire. The longer he lives with Commander Kogane, however, the more confused Lance's emotions become.
Vampire and Handmaids Tale fusion. (Do not need to have read or watched The Handmaid's Tale to understand!)

“Ooh,” Silvio amends. “Tía Veronica said you have a pale ass. My Abuela said you’re gonna die.”
OR
When Lance is fatally wounded during their final battle, the blue lion enters a deep hibernation with Lance inside. Unsure when or if he’ll wake, Keith is forced to wait and watch over him in the company of the people he fears most: Lance’s family.
