Summary

But when Ed crosses paths with him again several days later, this time stranded on the side of the highway and in need of some assistance, Ed winds up on a slightly different road trip than the one he'd planned to take—with a man he absolutely doesn't plan to fall in love with.
Clearly, plans change.

Summary
Mother said if God wanted Mankind to live out at Sea, He would have made them capable of breathing under water.
Izzy thinks that that’s part of it, the inherent danger of it - it’s grounded in that respect that is owed to Her, to this awe that fills Izzy whenever he gazes upon the blue expanse and knows that this is something so much bigger than him, something that could kill him every day, yet doesn’t.
He looks at the Sea and finds whatever his Mother found on church’s pews, staring up an altar, at a depiction of the Son of God, as a priest droned on with his sermon. He looks at the Sea and understands religion better than he ever did at Mass.
He doesn’t pray.
The Sea doesn’t want his prayers.
Edward told him once, “I don’t want to be a God to you, Iz. I’m just a man.”
Izzy doesn’t know how to tell him that he doesn’t see him as a God. But something about the way Edward loves him, something about the way Stede touches him, feels holy.

It’s humiliating enough for his feelings for Edward to be called love. Love is soft and sentimental, all kittens and perfume, and what Izzy feels for Edward is more akin to the way a ship needs the wind and the waves, no matter how roughly they beat at its sails and hull.

Unfortunately, it's going to involve spending a lot of time with Stede fuckin' Bonnet.

Summary
Neil said Hawkins was a 'fresh start', away from the sins and vices of San Francisco. A good, proper place for the family. It's everything Billy loathes. But it's somewhere quiet, a shit-hole Billy can lay low in until he makes a break for it and escapes this nightmare. He has a plan. Finish high school, save up some money, and run. No friends, no secrets spilled, no caring about anyone or anything.
But everything changes after his fight with Steve at the Byers' house when he's brought home the next morning in a cop car. It's just like old times. Something goes wrong, and he pays the goddamn price for it. Sometimes it's just for existing. Sometimes he thinks his dad dragged them out here with the hope that Billy will mess up and someone else will do his dad's dirty work for him. So he tries to hide it. All of it. Climbs to the top of the popularity ladder with his fists and his charm. Finds the easy girls. But even then he still can't stop what his dad's been trying to beat out of him for as long as he can remember.
Not with King Steve in the picture. Not when the goddamn bastard keeps messing up his plan.
